I am originally from Peekskill, NY, and have spent a lot of time at the Assumption Cemetery in 2009 and have over 5,000 headstones pictured. Most of the pictures that I have are for headstones with death dates prior to 1970. I also have some pictures from other cemeteries I visit as well.|
If there is one for your family here, please let me know and I will be happy to move the ownership of that memorial to you. Please send me a note under the Edit tab on the memorial you are writing about. If you see one for your family member and you do not want them to have a memorial page, please let me know that also and I will delete it.
My purpose in doing this is to help in trying to make sure that no one is forgotten and also to help family members find their relatives.
Please feel free to use any of the headstone pictures that I post in your genealogy project, no credit is needed. This is about making sure that people are remembered, not about picture ownership.

|Gail Racine||Thanks for caring|
Rich, My son Mike Racine JUST told me you sent him devil dogs. What a sweet thing to do, as he hasn't been back to New York in a long while and it is a fond memory. The work you do on FIND a GRAVE is so awesome..We sometimes don't know we care about where we came from until we are older...You fortunately realized it sooner rather than later. Again thanks for all your hard work . Happy Holidays. Gail Frisone Racine
|Cathy McGovern Dillon||Great work|
Was very happy to find your photo of John McGovern's tombstone. I think you will enjoy having a look at my dad's photo of the same, except his is in black and while from 1937. Those two grave markers John and Mary .. I believe would be my great grandparents; Murray's ( the 1937 photographer's )Grandparents. definitely belong "together", I would say!

So I was reacting to my own mistake. Thanks for your patience and for helping. Since I couldn't see what I'd originally requested as a correction I thought i'd sent something else that might be wrong. Sorry for the unwarranted tutorial. My face is red. Thanks again for all your work there.

A reason given for not correcting or adding to B. Barhelmes' memorial is given by you, " Not accurate - Their data conflicts with my data."
Since the whole point of our work here at F A G is to respectfully represent those in the cemeteries around the world, we need to be accurate. It is good not to accept input that we feel is incorrect. However, since all this is in service of family history and the descendants and relatives, it behooves us to offer up the information we have to others. If I offered up information that is wrong your responsibility is to let me know my error so I can correct my records.
Please be so kind as to elaborate on what you believe to be mistaken and set me straight. for instance I am sure this is Barbara Wiegle Barthelemes, wife of Michael Barthelemes. We are researching our Covert relatives and their daughter Laura married Lester Covert. If I've got information wrong either on FInd A Grave or on the tree at ancestry.com I want to fix it so that I don't perpetrate error throughout the system. Linking family members at F A G is also important and I don't want to create a false link here either. You can respond here or use my regular email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for any help you can offer and thanks for creating these memorials. Tom

Thank you for adding the biography I put together for Guillaume A. Reusens.
I added some photos of him so you may wish to reorder your photos-the monument photo got pushed down the cue, and should have pride of place.
Thanks for the headstone photo!
