Genealogy has been one of my hobbies off and on since 1980. I am researching in the US: New York, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Oregon; Canada - Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick; England: Devon; Germany: Wurttemberg and Hesse; and France.
Names in my family (both direct and collateral) are: Miller, Mago, Merkle, Blake, Forton (Freton), Mink, Roneker, Hill, Bolz, Beaufait, Stotz, Bauer, Greno, Bulled, Adams, Peltier, Batt, Brenzel, Kambat, Desmarais, Veno (Vienneau) and many others in French-Canada.
My pet peeve about genealogy in general and specifically Find A Grave is the proliferation of data that is incorrect. If I have nothing more than names, dates, and the cemetery name, so be it. It is still a memorial for that person. As time goes on, I may add more information about the person but I WILL NOT post information that is incorrect. And I WILL NOT post information on a memorial page created or maintained by someone else. I will provide the information to the person who created/maintains the page and he/she can decide whether to add it.
RE: Theresa Mommer Memorial Thank you! The fact that you live in the area and can check will be of great help. I was basing my hunch on the background in the photos. Mt. Olivet is very large and St. Francis is not only much smaller, but laid out differently. Another stone in the background for a different memorial is also listed as being in Mt. Olivet. Either way, I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it. You know you spend a lot of times in cemeteries when you can look at the background and know where it is ;)
Theresa Mommer Memorial Greetings, If you have a moment to check your memorial for Theresa Mommer (and extended family), I believe she may be listed in the incorrect cemetery. St. Francis Cemetery is just a few miles down the same Road as Mount Olivet Cemetery where there is another Memorial for her under #67444458. I'm pretty sure based on the photographs attached to the memorial that she is in fact in Mount Olivet.
RE: Mary Catherine Maslan As previously stated, and since it was 5 years ago, I believe the lion's share of info was from her husband's obit along with info from the gravestone. The remaining info of which you are referring could POSSIBLY have been from a family tree on Ancestry. Quite honestly, I can't be absolutely sure at this point. I research thousands of people on Ancestry every week for people who don't have that service. Since the memorial is yours, you can correct the inaccuracies. I am sorry if there are mistakes. I am only human and sometimes have to rely on others that their info is correct. From what I can see, the only error is the parents. As far as military honors, most likely is true as reference is detailed. It is also possible that I found or requested from the Claremont library, her obit. This reason is based on too much detailed info that could not have been pieced together from Ancestry.
RE: Irene Kambat Yes the other Kambat stones were Augusta 1867-1942 & George 1859-1924 on the same headstone Henrietta 1908-1924 and William 1896-1926. They were all together. If you want to list them I'll add the photos.
