THANK YOU to those of you who submit photos and information that enhance the memorial. I appreciate your kindness and willingness to share.

***Photos***
You have my permission to use my photos for any noncommercial use. I do this so you can enjoy having something of your family member, even if it's just a photo of your family member's marker.

***Transfers***
I am not related to the majority of the families of the memorials I manage. I'm not here to collect a large number of memorials either. I simply add what I find in order to help other people find their relatives. So, except for the ones that are near and dear to me, I am willing to transfer memorials to you. I do check other people's profiles, though. If your profile says you will not transfer out of guidelines then don't ask me for one.

***Pay It Forward***
Genealogy is not done in a bubble. The information you find is never YOUR find. It is a piece of information that was recorded by someone else, someone who doesn't know you, who will probably never meet you and may not even be related to you. It was done just because it may be important to someone someday. Consider doing the same for others. It only takes a moment.

***Creating Memorials***
This website is a place to record where a person is laid to rest. It may be a cemetery, a mantle or donated to science. If you know where that may be, then record it here on Find A Grave. Just please, PLEASE just record the KNOWN location. If you don't know where the person is buried then don't create a memorial. The only exception is for a recent death when the location has not been announced yet.

***Do Your Research First***
If you are doing family research and think GGGrandpa and GGGrandma are buried in a certain location because that's where they lived, then contact the cemetery and verify it first. You may be surprised how many people are NOT buried in the location where they raised their family. It is inconsiderate for you to expect other people (Find A Grave volunteers) to do your research for you. That shows both laziness and rudeness on your part.

***Social Security Death Index (SSDI)***
Please realize that the SSDI does NOT show where the person died. It shows the last residence recorded at the Social Security Office. Check for a death certificate or the State's Death Record for the location of death.

***FAQ's***
Take a moment to click on the link in the left column titled "Help with Find A Grave". You will probably find answers to questions you didn't know you had.

RE: Mary Cole
Hi Joanne!

You're very welcome! I was excited when I first saw Mary's headstone, as she was the first person in my amateur cemetery visiting experience that was born in the 1700's! Have seen a few more since then but she will always be special!

Thank you for the quick response for photo of Gust Zeak. I noted one error on the original info that he was born in 1880 (which is incorrect) It should read 1860. Thanks again. Arlene

Nestor Bruce
I don't know if you are related the Bruce's, but when I looked up Nestor Bruce, there was all this info!! Thanks so much! My grandfather was raised by Nestor and his wife, Maria (who was my great-grandfather's sister)after his mother died very young. It's been very slow going with this side of the family records and I just wanted to tell you that all your work is truly appreciated!!
