Memorial Transfers
Jim, I just transferred 13151581 to you. The other one 27769042 is not mine so I could not transfer it but the owner is a great guy and I'm sure he'll be glad to transfer it to you. Just be sure to show your reason, the relationship, in your request. If I have any others in Oak Grove that are related to you, or your better half, I'll be glad to transfer them to you. My posts in that cemetery were off shoots of memorializing Johnny Allen & Pearlie Rhodes, classmates at NHS, and Carroll Rodgers, a schoolmate at NHS, who was killed in Vietnam. If I can help you in any way let me know. Bill

Rufus Breedlove Memorial
Jim, thanks for the update that Rufus is your father in law! The relationship is all that is necessary to get most of us to transfer especially as close as Rufus is to you. I'll be happy to transfer mine to you . I thnk you will find most Findagravers are willing to transfer memorials when you find one of your relatives already posted even if outside of the guidelines, tho some insist on abiding by the four degree policy. I post every veteran I can as a way to honor their service and will always transfer them to a family member closer family member wanting to enhance the memorial. After I posted Polly remembered your better half being a Breedlove. I'm transferring now, feel free to delete mine instead of transferring all your information to the earlier memorial. Bill

Your request for me to delete a memorial
Jim, you requested me to remove the memorial page I created for Rufus Breedlove in Oak Grove Cemetery because it is a dupe. Please note, my memorial was created 2 years and 2 months before yours making yours the dupe, not mine. You offered no other explanation as to why my memorial should be removed instead of yours, such as Rufus being related to you, etc. Therefore, it would be more appropriate for you to remove your dupe of my previously created memorial. I will be glad for you to add your photos to my memorial and I'll certainly be glad to add the family relationships you have added. If Rufus is your relative and you explain that I will be happy to transfer to you. Dupes are a big problem but the problem lies with the one creating the dupe not the one who first created a memorial. Bill

Jim, please double check the memorial numbers you just gave me, two of them are the same.

By the way,do you know William Ronald Leach? I may have asked you this before, he was in our Natchitoches High School class and I haven't been able to locate him.

James M Leach
Will you include James M Leach's obit in BIO..

22 Sep 1933 - Prominent Sabine Pioneer Expired at Age of 83 Years Following Useful Life.

Florien and Sabine parish was saddened last Friday when James M. Leach, age 83, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. L. F. McLanahan in Florien.

Until his recent illness, Mr. Leach made his home with a daughter, Mrs. H. Rookstool of Florien; after the illness from which he never recovered, he moved with an elder daughter Mrs. McLanahan.

Funeral services were at prospect church, where the remains were interred beside his spouse who passed away in 1903.

Pallbearers were six grandsons, Amos McLanahan, Milford, R.T., C.D., Fred, and Selby Leach. Great nieces aided with the floral offerings.

Mr. Leach was born in Alabama in 1850, was married to Miss Nancy Francis in 1871. They made their home in and near Florien until the death of Mrs. Leach. To the union were born seven children, five of whom survive; Mrs. L.F. McLanahan, Mrs. H. Rookstool, of Florien; W.G. Leach, Dess, E.C. Leach of Ft. Jesup, and J.E. Leach of Natchitoches. A brother, Newton F. Leach, and sister, Mrs. Clabe Stroud, both of Florien survive as does two half-sisters, Mrs. William Gandy, Mrs. Rosie Woodle, and a half-brother, J. Lonnie Leach, all of Mt. Carmel.

Deceased joined the Baptist church some 70 years ago, was a charter ember of Antioch and Florien churches, a member of the Masonic order some 60 years, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. For more than 40 years he was engaged in the mercantile business, and during the greater part of that time was a prosperous farmer for a number of years, always progressive and active in public affairs.
