Bio and Links
Bio Photo Findagrave has a wonderful feature that allows memorial holders to update many requests at a time, but only if done via the Edit tab --- so please try that before leaving information on the profile page! This feature is a true blessing.

Please keep your requests via the "other" information option to a minimum, as the workload has become unsustainable.

Over zealous senders may find theirs deleted. Hope they switch to messages via flowers. Thank you.

Obits under copyright should be summarized and will not be posted, so please do not send them. In most cases, there is a 72-year or longer time period.

If you wish to download one of my tombstone pictures, you may do so for personal usage and should give proper credit. Under no circumstances should they be added to other sites (such as Ancestry) as if they are your own.

Photographs of individuals require PERMISSION, and if lifted from here without appropriate permission or credit are subject to licensing fees.

Please follow Findagrave guidelines to be within a few generations and a direct descendant. For older ones, please communicate the reason.

As the number of memorials I manage increases, I sometimes elect to transfer without being asked. If you received a transfer and do not wish to manage it, please transfer back.

William McCarty # 5724570
Hi! You listed William McCarty (d. 1878) in Brandywine Cemetery, Shelby County, Indiana as an unmarked grave based on an obi. He is my ggg grandfather and is a brick wall on my tree. I cannot find his parents, only that he was born in Ohio in 1809 and often went by McCarter before changing to McCarty. Do you still have access to the obi or any other information on him you could share?

RE: Abram Hendricks & Ann Hendricks Stewart's dau, Eliza Jane
I just learned that the DAR applications for our mother daughter prospectives were verified. They will be newest numbers for Abram Hendricks after being voted on.

George Bisbee
John T. Wilder Biography

My name is George Bisbee and am an archivist doing work on primarily Illinois soldiers and units in the Civil War. I have a community Facebook Page: Illinois Boys in Blue that commemorates those brave men who defended their country.

John Wilder was brigade commander of two Illinois Units, so I did a story on him that will be published on the Facebook page. By the way, I sent a friend request to you on Facebook.

Are you a descendant of John Wilder? I see that you published a photo on Ancestry of his children. If you are interested, I am currently putting together a full biography that expands the information of John Wilder and his life after the Civil War. He was a fascinating man and true American hero.

RE: Philadelphia
I grew up in Phila suburbs and my mother's family was from Phila. I am aware of the Mt Vernon situation. Sad. I agree with you about the need for laws to guarantee access to graves for family, at a minimum.

RE: Thank you for famous bio
I was blown away by her book. When she wrote it people thought of the Everglades as a wasteland. Plus I admire her longevity as a force for change. I have been to the Everglades once, briefly, as a day trip when in Ft. Lauderdale. Would like to go again someday.

Thank you for famous bio
Thank you for your bio of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas. Find A Grave doesn't have nearly enough Famous women recognized. She certainly qualifies.
