Sophia LITTLE - Little
Hi Wayne!

I was looking at Sophia's Headstone and the day she passed, on May 30 1897(as you had put in).

She died in March. If you look at the month of passing 'Mar' with an 'r', not 'y', then look at the word "days', see the 'y'...., I thought it it was a'y' also....LOL, I did a double check and saw the mistake...,sorry Wayne.

Just trying to be helpful...., they are all on my wife's side, of her family.

Obituary for Caroline Love
Wayne, the obituary appeared in the 23 Aug 1906 Charlotte News and is findable at

I assumed it was the UMC, but could have been at the Hickory Grove Baptist or Presbyterian Church.
From memory, there was empty space around the few LOVE graves at the UMC. Anyhow, the stones may not have survived?

I believe somehow this family ties with that of Mary Fairly Love. No proof though. And, Caroline had a son John C. Love who with John J, served with Jonah Love. John C. Love was last known being sent to Philadelphia during the Civil War. He is either, or is confused with, a person named John C. Love from Philadelphia who, in 1874, purchased all the land around Grandsir Jimmy's land by Reed mine.

Obituary for Caroline Love
Wayne, I visited Hickory Grove UMC years ago and noted LOVE buried there. It seemed then they tied back to SC, so did not look further. Just found the following obituary online for Caroline:

Mrs. Caroline Love, widow of the late J. J. Love, died yesterday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of her son, Mr. J. B. Love, four miles from the city on the Mneville road. The deceased was one of the oldest women in, the county, being 83 years of age at the time of her death. She was a good Christian woman and had been for many years a member of the Hickory Grove Church. The interment took place at that church today. Mrs. Love is survived, by two children, Mr. J. B. Love and Mrs. Braswell, of Mint Hill.

John and Mary Hagler
Dear Wayne,
I was hoping you could help me? John #97166719 and Mary 'Polly' Love/ #68836747 Hagler were my GX4 great-grandparents. I am trying to connect the family thru Find A Grave, and was hoping to have them transferred to me? Whoever is maintaining John's have their messages disable, so I was hoping you know who it is? And would you mind transferring Mary to me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much,
Donna Coleman Kurk
