Many of the memorials that I have listed are not individuals of whom I have personally known or been associated with. Some are from obituaries saved over the years by an older, now deceased family member. I would be pleased to transfer or if informed, make corrections to any memorial outside of my own family circle. My only purpose for listing these memorials is to preserve memories and enhance the efforts of others in locating family members both now and in generations to follow. Whenever possible I have sought to link individuals with birth location, parents, spouses etc. Information not contained in obituaries was obtained from other public sources. Should anyone wish for personal reasons not to have a loved one listed, please contact me through the posted service and the memorial will be deleted immediately.|

|Kathleen Grady Patterson||China Village|
I recently visited China Village, the cemetery and the grave sites of many family members in the STANLEY line and want to thank you for all your research and sharing of information. Your time and loving labor made finding this area and those I wanted to personally document quite easy. What a great service. Such a gorgeous cemetery on the hill above the lake. The details you posted on Col Nathan Stanley and others of his family are so appreciated.
|Dolores Kingston||RE: James A. Green Memorial#60687002|
James A. Green was my great uncle. I once asked my Dad what happened to him and Dad said he lost touch with him years ago. In my Dad's photos that I recently obtained from my brother, I found one of my Dad with Jim Green and Melba his wife and Laura, their daughter taken at Gerritsen Beach in Brooklyn, N.Y. They must have come to visit with family members since most of the family lived in NYC. Dad had written the names of the people in the photo on the back of the photo. So I looked on the familysearch website and found the following:
|Name: James A Green
Event Type: Marriage
Residence Place: Brooklyn, NY
Event Date: 07 Sep 1940
Event Place: Maine, United States
Spouse's Name: Melba G Hinkley
Spouse's Residence Place: Gardiner, Me
Citing this Record:
"Maine, Marriage Index, 1892-1966, 1977-1996," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KCJH-6GJ : accessed 13 September 2015), James A Green and Melba G Hinkley, 07 Sep 1940; citing Marriage, Maine, United States, State Archives, Augusta.
James was born in Manhattan, NYC not Maine. I obtained a copy of his birth certificate from the NYC Municipal Archives Building which I sent to you in an email. At the time the certificate was issued, his parents must not have decided on his name because it just says "Green", male. But the birth date and parents names on the birth certificate are correct for James. His full name, according to his sister (my grandmother) was James Albert Edward Green. He was still living with his family in April 1940 when the Census was taken. There must have been a story behind how he ended up in Maine but I never heard anyone in my family talk about it.
Could you correct his birth place in the Memorial? Also I have set up Memorials for his parents and his brothers and sisters. Could you please link his Memorial to his parents? His father was James A. Green Memorial # 113626133
His mother was Mary Elizabeth Henn Green Memorial # 113897735
Linking James to his parents will put him with his parents and all of his siblings! : )
Thanks so much! I have been trying to find out what happened to James for a couple of years now and I finally found my great uncle! I added a photo of him and Melba to their findagrave Memorials. : )
|Lorraine Valenta||William A BAker|
Will you recheck the # for William A Baker?
I typed in that # and Found someone else's gravesite.
|Mardrey Swenson||Joseph West Family|
I'm wondering if you are descended from this family. If so, we are related. I'm thrilled to have found their Find a Grave information and all the dates, and the photographs of the head stones you uploaded. On Ancestry.com other family trees keep coming up with a Hallowell, Maine birth, and Joseph West having died in Australia and having married an Australian woman!
Thank you so much for the work you've done.
Mardrey Fish Swenson
Wondering if you are also related to the Perkins Family. Jefferson, Whitefield, and coastal areas in Maine. If you would like, please contact me through the corrections section on a memorial I maintain.
Regards, Debra Ann Perkins
The links I have sent for various Crummetts are from the 1940 census records showing that Eva and Pearley are their parents. Thank you!
