I began searching my family tree about 38 years ago. However, I did not go very far. Only a few generations of names and possible burial sites. Now the relatives that had those answers have long since passed on.
I rekindled the desire in 2010 when I meant the DT Questers at a meeting with Ingham Township to have them catalog the Howard Cemetery. My parents, both sets of grandparents and one set of great grandparents are buried there. Find a Grave has been very helpful in my recent searches.
My desire now is to work with information on my decedents in the West, Aseltine,Every and Meredith families. I want to update their memorials. Getting more complete dates and events in their lives into the memorials. Hopefully, this will make other relatives search for their roots a little easier to follow.
HOWARD CEMETERY My second goal is to get as much information about the Howard Cemetery as possible and post on the memorials. I have found quite a few more burials in this cemetery from my research. No records are available. My findings have been through old obituaries and burial permits.
OBITUARIES I have been searching old area newspapers and books. I've found more information about my relatives and the people related to them. This has given me more leads to follow. While looking up these articles, I have found many others of people in the area. I have been adding them to their memorials. I hope this will help others find more information about their searches. | |

 | RE: Theron North picture Connie, While I was at North Cemetery, I took a lot of photos, including most, if not all, of the tombstones in the "North" family plot. I haven't uploaded them all yet, and some were unreadable, but I will get all of the ones I can onto FindAGrave within a week or so. David | | | david cox
 | RE: Elizabeth Shoop Rohrbacker My Wife is descended from John and Elizabeth thru their daughter Christina.
We are sure about John's name and ancestors and are sure about Elizabeth's family name, given the myriad alternate spellings. We thought we had her parents right, but if the death cert is accurate, then we don't. However, this could be a case of a child not knowing the grandfather's name since he died a long time ago. But still, I need to check it out.
You've been a real help.
By the way, it's 4am in Alaska and I'm up because I have a bellyache. It looks like you replied to my last message in real time. Where do you live and why are you up so early??

 | RE: Elizabeth Shoop Rohrbacker Connie:
Thanks for the prompt response. There may be a mystery here!!
There seem to be 2 different entries for her in 2 different places.
I say "her" advisedly, but how common can Shoop, Robacher be??
I'll follow up more tomorrow.
Good Hunting!

 | RE: Elizabeth Shoop Rohrbacker This is the posting ..Find A Grave Memorial# 46069683. Mary Elizabeth Shupe Robacker. Leek Cemetery, Ingham Co, Michigan. YOu posted a Bio and a Death Cert.
The narrative says she is the daughter of John Henry and Mary Barbara (Koller) Shupe, but I can barely make out the death cert, but it looks like it says Charles??
Thanks

 | Elizabeth Shoop Rohrbacker Thanks for posting the Obit and Death Cert. Question? The narrative names her parents, I can't make out the parents names on the Death Cert, but they don't look the same?? Could you tell me what the Death Cert says her parents names are?
Good Hunting
