Hi Michael. It's me, Kate Crowley. I know that stone is hard to read. Census records in my tree for Martin indicate he was born in 1815 and died in 1896. He and his brother Michael held land all around northeastern Clinton County. My grandma Clare Farrell Crowley was born on one property by Charlotte and inherited another by Welton.
Hope all is well with you.

BODY FOUND IN THE RIVER
Last Friday the AGE reported the drowning of Wm. Delphy. He was supposed to have been run down by the steamer Verne Swain on Wednesday night while returning to his flat boat down the river. His body was found Sunday near the Wapsie, where it had lodged on a sand bar. The remains were brought to this city, and yesterday were interred in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa .”
