I became interested in genealogy several years ago, while attending a family reunion. Someone made the statement "If someone doesn't write this information down, then it's going to be lost". I realized how true that was, so I began my searches. I think "Family" is very important, and sometimes younger generations don't think much about the present time, then later begin to wonder. Of course, after all the info has been gathered, then family members request copies of the info, which I am happy to share.|
Now that I have become aquainted with Find A Grave, I am trying to get as much info and photos added, as possible, to help others locate their loved ones.
If requesting transfers, or asking me to do corrections or additions, please do so, through the edit tab on the memorial you are requesting.

May I use your photo of Norma Harvey, et al, for my Ancestry tree? Thanks for doing her memorial.

Understood. Since your husband and I are both in the direct line, would you be willing to exchange emails with me? Perhaps we can help each other fill in some branches of our trees.

|Jonalee Young||RE: John Franklin Teel|
I'm sorry, that was old information from another source. I believe John was probably born in Rockbridge County, Virginia, though it is unclear when his parents moved to Kanawha County. The 1840 census of Kanawha lists a Wm Teale family with 3 sons and two daughters. I have no information on the second daughter (under age 5) as she does not appear with Susan in the 1850 census. I am not directly related to the Teel family but grew up with some of their descendants in Kanawha County.

John died January 30, 1918 according to the death certificate. He would have been 15 in the 1850 census. Rockbridge County is still in Virginia. I believe John was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia.
|Adele ||Gustave H Kortge|
I have a question about the parents of Gustave H Kortge (#122228903). There are 2 men named Karl Kortge in the Moravian Cemetery, West Salem, Edwards, IL - one born in 1811 (#12232523) and one born in 1838 (#122319704). Gustave's mother is shown as Dorothy Schmidt, born 1820 (#122352360). I wonder if Gustave is linked to the wrong Karl. On the New York Passenger list Karl is shown as being 10 years older than Dorothy not 18 years younger.
I found this when I was asked to put Karl and Dorothy as a woman's parents in her bio and got very confused as to which Karl was her father.
Hope you can solve the problem so I can link the woman to the correct parents.
Thank you and sorry to cause you a headache.
