|Laura (Baird) Marotta||Please link family together|
You have submitted an entry of Russell Norman Baird (Find A Grave# 87872626) on Find A Grave. It was done beautifully to honor the man that is was. I am a great neice to Russell and I see you have added some of his other family members to link the family together. If you could please add his other siblings it would very nice to have the family all linked together for those that are researching the family.

I left a flower and a note, if you wish you can transfer this memorial to me. THE ELWOOD CALL LEADER ELWOOD, IND. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1914. CALLED BY DEATH TODAY. Elbridge R. Leeson Answered Final Summons This Morning. ONE OF CITY’S PIONEERS. Following an illness extending over the past several weeks, Elbridge R. Leeson, age 67, died at his home, 1630 South A street, shortly before 11 o’clock this morning. He had been sinking rapidly since yesterday and death which had been expected almost hourly for the past two weeks, came with the members of the family by his bedside. The deceased was one of the pioneers of this city and the greater part of his life had been spent in and near Elwood. He had been connected with the Leeson store when the business in its infancy was started by the late R. L. Leeson as a little cross roads store. From that time he was closely affiliated with the firm in all business matters, giving his talents and his time and labor towards its success and as the store grew in size and influence, no one worked harder or appreciated the success more than he. Since Wayne Leeson, his cousin, assumed full charge of the business, Mr. Leeson continued at the store, and the loss occasioned by the death this morning is felt personally, not only by the management but every one of the employes there as well. Mr. Leeson was one of the pioneer members of the Odd Fellows, the Masonic and the Knights of Phthias orders and was a faithful member and earnest worker in each of these fraternities. He was a life long member of the Christian church having been affiliated with that institution since his boyhood and his life was a beautiful example of true but unassuming Christianity to all who were associated with him. Loss is a Heavy One. There were few men in the city who were better known and none more generally loved and respected than the man who answered the final summons this morning. He was a loving husband and father, faithful and honest in all his business dealings, a patriotic and worthy citizen, and a man whose death creates a loss that can never be filled in the business social and religious circles of the city. A wife, two sons, Howard and Guy, and one daughter, Miss Cliff Jackley, of Frankton, besides a number of more distant relatives and a great hoste of friends survive him. The funeral will be held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon at two o’clock, Rev. Robert Sellers in charge. The members of the several orders of which he was a member, will attend in a body and will assist with the services. Interment will follow in the city cemetery. THE ELWOOD CALL LEADER ELWOOD, IND. Monday, FEBRUARY 9, 1914. Funeral Yesterday. The funeral of the late Eldridge R. Leeson held at the Christian church yesterday was one of the largest here in months. The deceased was known to practically every resident of the city and hundreds of friends braved the worst weather of the winter to pay their last respects to him at this time. The services were incharge of the Rev. Robert Sellers and the Masonic order of which the deceased was a member. Other lodges were also well represented and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. Interment occurred in the city cemetery.
