Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have worked on genealogy off and on for over 40 years. My family interests are Hanks, Wykle (Wykel) and other spellings, Bradshaw, McCormick, Kemp, Cox, Hayes, Kellogg and many other names. I mainly work in the Decatur, Illinois area because most of the older relatives are buried here. After I retired I was told about FindAGrave and it has become a very useful tool. My cousin (Teri) is also interested in genealogy and we now work together. We have been spending a lot of time researching burials at Gouge Cemetery and Sharon Cemetery, aka Wykles Cemetery. Over half of the people buried at Sharon Cemetery are related to our families by blood or marriage and have lived in this area for many years. Donna

I will add any information sent to me and I am happy to transfer any person that is not our immediate family.

Mariah Jane Leib Kemp
I was wondering if you would share the information you have about her parents. Information I have says her parents could be John and Catherine Leib, but I don't have any sources or proof of this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Kemps
Donna, thanks so much for your help. i am sorry to hear you are not able to pursue genealogy at this time.

Your husband and I are 3rd cousin, 1x removed. I was able to enter the information and find that relationship.

I am also from Murphy and Mary Emma Howell. Your husband is from their son Anderson Marshall and I am from their son Thomas Joshua!
I plan to visit the cemetery in Kenney as well as others.

Thanks again. Please relate to your husband about our relationship.

Rachel Hirst Andrews
I just put a grave photo on Mrs. Andrews page. I noticed her maiden name was spelled Hurst on the page but on the grave it's Hirst. Just thought you might want to know to be able to correct it.
#46872515 is the memorial number.

RE: Kemps
that sounds great. thank you so much.
I know I will be going to Wheeler cemetery in Macon county and some in Kenney, etc.
I will contact the historical society and inquire about the land record books and I am very excited to see the Kemp book.
I will also be looking at Wheeler family while there as Wheeler married Kemp. My other family is Cornelius but I have not done much with them but hope to before I go.
Do you know if there might be any Kemp members who would want to meet with me? Perhaps the ladies who wrote the book, etc.?
I would also be quite interested in finding the link between your husband and myself.
I have seen your name on findagrave many times and was also curious, as I have a first cousin here in Ohio with the same name!

hi Donna:
My mother was a Kemp and I have been working on that family recently, preparing to make my summer genealogy trip to Illinois this summer. I am preparing a detailed list of people and the cemeteries they are in. I think I will do a couple of counties probably as I will be there for only a couple of days and I want also to go to the courthouse to see if I can find the land where my grandfather farmed and perhaps my great grandfathers home stead. Thanks for all the findagrave research you have done. Any suggestions you might have for my trip this summer would be appreciated.

I have a tree on if you would ever like to take a look at it.

Nelson stones in Brown Cemetery
Would you consider transferring the three Nelson infant memorials in the Brown Cemetery near Argenta, Illinois to me. These are distant cousins of mine and I would like to update their memorials and add pictures of their tombstones. Thank you, Matthew W. Carver

John Morris
his findagrave page says he died in Macon County, Missouri. Didn't he die in Macon County, Illinois? Could you please correct that information?

RE: Delmer Behymer
That is correct. I only show two children of Fred and Nora:

Conrad F: 10 Jul 1910 - 7 Aug 1989
Delmer I: 22 Jan 1913 - 14 Apr 1988

RE: Nora Behymer
I see you beat me to the punch in sending SACs to hook Fred and Nora's children to their parents. Good job!

RE: Nora Behymer

Nora Lee (Johnson) Behymer's mother, Mary (Cruthers) Johnson died in 1924 and is buried in Anderson Cemetery. Just another confirming piece of evidence that Nora Behymer in Anderson Cemetery is Nora (Johnson) Behymer.
