I have only been doing genealogy for a couple of years and since I love history and puzzles, I am enjoying the search. I am researching the Schnatter (Snawder), Pharris, Blake and Truax families.
The search ranges from Kentucky to Tennessee to Indiana....

The information I have that shows them to be Brother & Sister is from the book, "From The Chickahominy To The Caney Fork ". If you have an Obit for Marshall Gillahan Sr., I sure would like to have a copy for my records. I really don't have much more information. Sorry.

RE: Gillihan
I really know nothing of him. He was dead before I was born. My mother was born in Louisville because her parents were visiting with him from Nashville in 1948. I do have a picture of him, but far as personal info none.

Annie Snawder
Hi, this got me to thinking. I know that the death certificate says she is buried in Andersen, but that does not make much sense for several reasons:

- There is no headstone (unusual for 1943)

- There are only three other burials at Andersen; it is a tiny cemetery. Is there any relationship with the other burials at Andersen? Neither appear to be family members, and the last of those was buried there in 1899. One has to ask why would she chose that particular cemetery. (After 1920, non-military burials on Fort Knox were very limited.)

- And most important, her husband and infant daughter buried are buried in Wilson-Snawder Cemetery in Valley Station. Perhaps she is buried there.

RE: Anderson Cemetery
The cemetery is about a nice 200 yard walk from a well-packed dirt road. However, Fort Knox is open for cemetery visits ONLY on Memorial Day. I think the access gate that would best is on Mt. Eden Road, off of Hwy 44. Normally, the staff at the gate can give you directions to the cemetery., but if you use the map on Findagrave (and are good with maps), it should be easy for you. It think it requires you make just one left turn after leaving the gate; about a 5 minute drive.

All that being said, I photographed headstones in this cemetery last Memorial Day, and I only found two headstones there. Unfortunately, I did not see one for Annie Snawder. Sometimes I miss a headstone, but in this case I don't believe there are any other headstones there. You may still want to go visit. I remember it as being an easy and pleasant walk.

I will get some information together and send it to you. It may take me some time, but I will try to get it done today, if not tomorrow.

RE: Anderson Cemetery
There is a map on the Cemetery page. The cemetery is on Fort Knox which is partially in Bullitt County.

RE: Wlliam Lawson

I have a William Henry Lawson (1846-1913). His parents are:

Father: Morman Lawson (1816-1905)
Mother: Rachel Roberts (1808-1870)

William has a brother: Albert C Lawson (1851-1913)

If this is your line I have a lot more information on this Lawson line.

Good Luck,
Sharren Formby
