|Bio and Links|
I am a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. We collect, glassware, vintage jewelry, Cowboy Collectables, and dust. We love Flea Markets, Country Auctions, and long highway yard sales.|
I started Find a Grave as a Photo Volunteer and decided that was too hard. I started photographing the entire cemetery, this way I could add them to the Computer at the Research Center and put them on Find a Grave also.
I walk the Cemeteries and take the photographs of the memorials I put on Find a Grave. I do not set at the computer and put memorials on in another state that I have no intention of putting a photograph on with it. I do not do this for the numbers, I do it to help others.
I will have to add to the above and say this winter I have been going through our county Cemetery Books and Creating new Cemeteries and making memorials for the ones buried in Family Cemeteries. It has been interesting to find them on Census records and connect them. I will try and locate the cemeteries and make a picture if I can. Sometimes the older family Cemeteries do not exist anymore. I did not want to add memorials that I could not add a picture. I decided that these people did not deserve to be forgotten, thus said here's hoping I can find a picture to add to the memorials. Keeping our County as up to date as possible.
I believe family should be with family. I make mistakes, I am human, just be nice when you let me know. It is not my intention to make duplicates, but names, initials, nicknames are not all known, and I gave up mind reading a few years ago. I try to correct, link or transfer as fast as I can. I do not believe it takes two months to type a few numbers.
If I add a photograph it is from the Funeral Home until I can add the gravestone marker. If I add the obituary it is from the Funeral Home or from the Daviess County Public Library, Owensboro Area Obituary Index database.
I look at the old monuments that have weathered many storms and mowers and wish they could tell of what lies beneath them. I feel that by photographing them now could be the last means of preserving them for our generation. Find a Grave is a wonderful site for sharing the photographs of family and discovering death and birth dates that might have been lost.
It is wonderful to meet and make friends with people I would otherwise never know. I love being able to help others in any way I can.
I believe in God, Family and Country. If this offends you, I am sorry. This is a short bio of me.
God Bless you and
God Bless the United States of America

Thank-you for getting back to me.
Hi Anita, thanks for fulfilling my request for Eli McCormick's headstone. I dont see a photo posted, was it an unmarked grave?
|Larry Hahn||RE: Eli's page|
Thanks, I do have the older pictures you put on page. I made copies of the first two. Thanks, Larry

I met and visited with Polly, Richards sister down in Kentucky, visited at funeral home but was unable to go to funeral. I would love to visit with the McCormick's and look at family pictures. I have very little pictures but do have one with both the Willis and both McCormick girls and all of the Willis clan. You have my e-mail address, it should would be easier to do e-mail than the public forum. Also met Polly's son, many times. Larry

Anita, BTW, I live in Evansville area, Willis brothers married McCormick sisters, I came about through the Willis and McCormick union. I was a Willis at birth but was adopted along with my brother in 1942 thus I don't carry the Willis sir name. LH

No, please do not remove them, they are fine. I have not seen these pictures and that is why I asked if you had anymore. Only relatives would have pictures like this and I am always looking for additional information and any other pictures I can obtain. Thanks so much. Larry

I noticed you provided two pictures of Eli and I am guessing his wife. Do you have any other pictures of this family and are you related to it? Eli was my great grandfather Please respond to Larry Hahn, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks First part of my e-mail address is Larry Spelled backwards.

The tombstone does show a death year of 1884, but 1900 census, World War I Draft Regstration and Social Security Death Index all show 1883. In this case, the tombstone seems to be incorrect.
Anita.....Thank you for the pictures of the Joseph Thomas Shultz family headstone...
