My name is Rita June Collvins Mayfield. I was born February 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. I married Vernon Roy Mayfield on April 16, 1971. My primary hobbies are gardening, oil painting, genealogy and of course cemeteries. There is something comforting about strolling through the cemetery and reading the stones. I have recently moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, but have lived in Oklahoma most of my life. Once an Okie, always an Okie. I am slowly trying to get all my family memorialized here. My virtual cemeteries represent my family, unless otherwise noted. I am going to make them public once again, and hope I can leave them without the misuse that occurred previously.|
If I have a memorial that is anyone in your family, and is unrelated to me or my husband, I will be glad to hand it over to you as I don't adhere to the 4 generation only guideline, just contact me. I count it a joy and a job well done if I am able to pass on your loved one to you. It is my number two reason for doing this, second only to wishing to save all the old and battered stones from being lost forever. If you find errors on any of the information on my memorials, please get in touch with me with corrections. You are welcome to use my tombstone photos on your family files and family trees, just note where you got it.
Please don't post death certificates or census reports in the picture area on my memorials. They don't belong there and are detrimental to the looks of the memorial, plus it takes up room where photos could be placed.

Rita, That graveyard is in horrible condition. There are only a handful of stones and it is so grown up you cannot get into it until cold weather. Wish I could get some one to help clean it up, buy small tombstones for those that do not have them. If you know of any ancestors that would help in these endeavors, PLEASE let me know. I am the president of the Macon County Historical Society and there are so many cemeteries like this here in the county.

I am with the Macon County Historical Society and we are preparing a new cemetery book on Macon County, TN cemeteries. I have Henry Clay Bradley death as 30 Mar 1937. If you have any other info on burials in Bradley, much appreciated. Can you document the info you have posted?
Wow - that was fast! :) Thank you so much for transferring all three to me, my family and I truly appreciate your generosity and all you do to connect families. May God bless you and yours - with warmest regards, Dianne
Do you know any of the Johnsons you have listed? I have added to Vonnie M to Lula crouch johnson as she is her child and I have a picture of her. There is another child anna Ruth born 1899. I wonder if anyone else may be buried around Lula.

Hey are you related to Mary Thompson? I found an old photo of Grandma Thompson, Mary Bryan's mother, photographer McKinney, Collin Co. Tx. Some quick research leads me to believe this is Mary Frances Chambers Thompson.

Rita, by chance, do you know who maintains this cemetery? A person contacted me regarding a memorial I created. The family wants to put a marker on this person's grave and doesn't know who to contact.

Hi...quick question, how come her tombstone has a different date of birth (year) than her tombstone picture?
|John Ozzy Williams||RE: Barnes Cemetery|
Since it sounds like you have a bunch, I would prefer you send directly to my email. Be sure to include memorial numbers because that is what I will need to make the links. I will be glad to make the corrections or links. Thanks!
