I enjoy doing family genealogies of local North Fork Families and, as a result, I haunt graveyards on weekends. I would be pleased to share information on these families. Please do contact me if you have any interest in the graves I have added.|

|Robert Carter||Gordon Konesmo Torkelson|
Thank you for taking a picture of the tombstone of Gordon Konesmo Torkelson at Cutchogue Cemetery. I have reason to believe that this is my grandfather's brother.
First, I know some Torkelson relatives (one of the brothers) lived out on the North Fork, but there was a family rift back in the 70s and so I never met them.
Second, my grandfather, Torkel Edwin Torkelson (#57429432), had an older brother Gordon with those same birth and death years.
Third, the family came from a tiny village in southern Norway: Konesmo, which also happens to be Gordon's middle name. Question: the stone only says "K". Where did the full word come from?
His WWI Draft Card has his accurate birth date, the fact that he was born in Georgia, the middle name Konesmo, and the fact that he was then living in Brooklyn (the family moved back after the father died in Georgia).
The 1930 census has him living with his mother in Brooklyn, only his middle initial is "B".
Despite the "B", because of these facts the chance of this link being incorrect is slim.
Will it be possible to link this memorial to my grandfather's parents, Torkel (#99352807) and Lizzie (#99353798) Torkelson?

Thank you so much for documenting the Weller family. I've been looking for this grand uncle for years and put in a request for his son hoping I would find a lead on his parents. I had no idea that his father went by Harry! Thank you, thank you, thank you for finding them! I truly appreciate your help.

Please remove one of the photos from memorial number 72354135.
Also a Dorris M., same area, but no parents listed.
