When I was in college almost 40 years ago, I interviewed my 2 living grandparents for an American History class. I wrote down everything they told me and preserved countless pictures that they gave me. That started my quest. My husband & I have traveled the country spending countless hours/days in courthouses, cemeteries, libraries, etc. looking for documentation to prove family lines. Many stories passed down through the family have been proven untrue and some family members dispute the facts....however, I only record what can be proven as my membership in many lineage societies requires.

RE: Julia Goode
SO GLAD YOU FOUND THE INFO USEFUL.

THERE IS SOME EVIDENCE THAT JULIA'S FATHER WAS GEORGE W. GOODE - NOT GEORGE C. GOODE. THERE IS A CENSUS RECORD THAT HAS HIS NAME AS GEORGE W. AND, OF COURSE, JULIA AND JONAS HAD A SON GEORGE W. GOODE.

THIS GEORGE W. GOODE MARRIED RUTH M. DAVIS AND DIED BY SUICIDE BY HANGING. RUTH M. DAVIS WAS THE DAUGHTER OF SAMPSON J. DAVIS. SHE WAS LEFT A YOUNG WIDOW WITH 1 OR 2 SMALL CHILDREN. THE LITTLE GIRL WAS NAMED GEORGIA, LIKELY AFTER HER DAD. VERY SAD.

ALSO NOTE JULIA'S FIRST CHILD WAS ELLENDER, NAMED FOR HER MOTHER. SECOND CHILD WAS GEORGE W. FOR HER FATHER.

IT WOULD CERTAINLY HELP IF THESE PEOPLE WOULD STICK TO HIS/HER RIGHT AGE :-)

IN ALL FAIRNESS, I READ THAT THERE WERE SO MANY GEO W'S FROM FRANKLIN CO DURING THE CIVIL WAR THAT THEY COULD NOT BE SEPARATED IN THE PAPER WORK.

Cox Conner, Roberson, Slate family.
I'm in the process of trying to find out some information about my ancestors Patrick Virginia. On my mother side Robertson and Slate and on my fathers side Cox and Conner. I am Tim Cox and originally from Patrick County. Is there anyway that I might contact guarding information about some of my ancestor?

Fairview Cemetery
You have two photos of the Fairview Cemetery on Find-A-Grave. I have been to that site Many times, but, the other day became curious what name is on the headstone in the forefront of the top photo. Amazed to realize it is my grandmother, Dora A. Dillon, & my step grandfather, Willie Dillon.

I remember that my grandmother, Dora, always told me there is a family plot for all the family & I know many of my ancestors are buried there, including my daddy. They should all be in the same vicinity as this one .... Dillon. My daddy's name is Joel Leftwich, his father & grandparents are there also.

Is anyone ever going to photograph the remaining headstones in the cemetery? I would love to do that myself, but I doubt will ever have the opportunity. Just a funny note: Dora's house used to be across the street from the drive up to the cemetery .... torn down for the highway. My cousins & I played in the cemetery .... & hollered in the vaults for fun!

RE: Rush Scott
Rush Scott was my dads uncle, he was my Grandpa Scotts brother. Grandpa and Grandma are both buried their too. Lee and Ida Scott. Grandma's maiden name was Lowe. Her parents were Alson T Lowe and Sarah Ann Blackburn. They are buried at Adron Lowe Cemetery low branch Johns creek. Pike Co. Ky. My dad was born at Blackberry, and as far back as I have been able to trace all my Scott ancestors were.

RE: Ruby DeHart
According to her obituary, her mother was Mary Fain Flippin. Probably the same person that sent you the edit sent me one for Ruth's sister, Nannie Ruth Flippin Helmstetler.

RE: Rush Scott
Rush Scott is the brother of my Grandfather Lee Scott, #133402969. I am trying to find my ancestors in Pike Co., Ky. Most were from the Hardy area of Blackberry creek. My ancestors include Scott's, Lowe's, Blackburn, Stafford, Farley, McCoy, Hatfield. I think I have done fairly well so far. I am stuck finding very much info on my 2nd great grandpa Apperson Scott, it may have been Epperson or Epp. He was the father of Floyd Scott #133577853 and son of David or Daniel Scott #90726458. I would be thankful for any help.

RE: Daniel Ross & McDaniel Ross
I do not know where Joyce Harbour Ross is buried her dates are (1792-1888). She is not listed at Ross Harbour in the Pilson book. Her son David and his family are there. We just might find her somewhere later on.
