Tolman Cemetery Project
Dear Andrew,

Along with a local citizen and a relative who is a member of the NSDAR, as am I, we are trying to locate Revolutionary War veterans who so far are not memorialized. By the latter, we are referring to the bronze plaque at the main entrance which was placed in 1947, but which does not name all the veterans that we believe are buried in that cemetery.

My relative is descended from Benjamin Blackington, and upon visiting his grave and seeing his headstone in four pieces, became very intrigued with finding ways to restore and rededicate the cemetery. Please see the new photo and the plaque on findagrave for Benjamin Sr.

You have done some excellent work with your photograpy and biosketches, and I hope we can work together in future.

Sincerely,

Betty P. Crockford, DAR #837033

Freeman Steele Marston
I noticed that you had created a memorial for Freeman Steele Marston, whom you have noted as interred at the Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery. Are you a descendant of Freeman's? I'm also a descendant of a mariner who resided at Sailors' Snug Harbor and is interred at the SSH Cemetery. If you are interested in more information about the SSH Cemetery and where to find Freeman' SSH Records, I can help you. You can contact me at the email address listed on my member name profile.

Willie Freeman, Rockland
Hello Andrew,
Many thanks for transferring the record. I have been trying to find Lena (Thomas) Freeman, as well as other children of John Henry Freeman, without much luck so far. Lots of detective work is needed!

Willie M. Freeman
Hello Andrew,

Willie's father is found in memorial no. 139884708.

John Henry Freeman was my great-grandfather. If you could transfer Willie's management to me, I would be most grateful. He is at Seaview Cemetery, Rockland, Maine, which I will be visiting next month.

Sincerely,
Lewis Freeman Clark Jr.

Phineas and Jane Weeks
Would you be willing to post information that leads people to the photo I just placed for Phineas and Jane Weeks? The stones were moved from Crowell Hill Road Cemetery to the Center Vassalboro Baptist Cemetery in 1997 and I took a picture of the stone in that cemetery. As seems appropriate, there are 2 listings for Phineas--one at each cemetery.

Thanks for your help.

Correction
Thank you so much for your contributions to Find A Grave and the excellent photographs. Please correct a minor spelling error on the memorial information for William and Mary McIntire. Find-a-grave numbers 43323724 and 43323906. The memorial has their surname spelled McIntyre. It should be McIntire. See the photos of the headstones. I had difficulty locating them because of the typo, but I was sure glad to find them. Thank you again.
