RE: Ambrose Augustus Callahan update Yes, its been interesting to say the least doing the family genealogy! There are stories as to how this could have happened, but some used one name, others used (and claimed) another! Ambrose Augustus Cathleen parents were: Thomas Catheen Jr.(born Amity, Cary Plantation) and Maryann (Mary Anne) Dinnen(and various spellings). Thomas Cathleen Jr.'s parents were Thomas Cathleen (also Cathelin)(born Ireland, lived in Amity) and Catherine Foley.
Thats why the records from Amity and Cary Library, plus the cemetery, are hard to make the connections.
My Grandmother Virginia Madeleine Cathleen Peabody Black is buried in Evergreen (in vicinity of my Grandfather Harold A.Peabody, her first husband). Nice pink granite stone. Her brother James and sister Evelyn have the same type of stone up by the back fence in Evergreen. Their sister Phyllis's name is on the stone, but she will be buried at Togus along the side of her husband Rellon Cole.
Ambrose Augustus Callahan update Hello, just writing to update your records. Ambrose Augustus Callahan was actually Ambrose Augustus Cathleen. He was the son of Thomas Cathleen Jr. and his wife Mary Anne Dinnin, both of Amity, Cary Plantation. He was originally buried in Cary(as Cathleen) and removed to be reburied with wife Lucy and daughter Nina under the headstone Callahan. Their daughter Virginia Madeleine Cathleen (my Grandmother) never used the name Callahan. She was born, and married (twice) as Cathleen. She married Harold A. Peabody and Ara Black. All of her children's birth certificates used the name Cathleen. My Great Aunt Phyllis Arlene was born on April 26, 1921 and passed March 5, 2016. She was married to Rellon G. Cole. My Great Uncle James Bernard was married to Hilda Savage. Neither of their siblings, Evelyn D. or Nina were ever married. Thanks you very much for all your hard work!Sincerely, Cathie Baker
Msg from Carol & David re Fulmers in Stewardsville Lutheran I added all the Fulmers in the large family plot in Stewartsville Lutheran. I added Agnes as she is in Stewartsville Lutheran in the family plot. I also added Ellen Henkel Fulmer who is there and not in Stewartsville Presbyterian. I left a message on Tom Myers' message board to delete Ellen who he has in the Presbyterian Cemetery since your memorial was created first in the right cemetery. I also advised him to move William Fulmer as he has him in the wrong cemetery and I would then add the gravestone. I will not add it unless he moves it.
I have no gravestone for Samuel and I don't think we missed it. He may be in an unmarked grave and it is hard to believe his parents would put him in the Presbyterian cemetery when they were buried in the Lutheran Cemetery.
The large stone for Henrietta has William on the other side. They both have two stones in the cemetery. Another white stone was in the shadow for Henrietta but I can try and brighten it up and add it if you want it, just not very good and I don't like to add poor photos. The one in the ground of William is good but the one on the large cross has the sun on it but is slightly hard to read. No other names on this stone.
Good luck with Tom, have dealt with him in the past.
RE: Fulmers I have asked Tom to delete his duplicate and move the 2 children to the right cemetery - give him a few days...Looks good!! I also asked Carol and David if they took others as I was seeking the children Agnes and Samuel.
I am hoping that you would be willing to transfer Dorothy Mead's memorial to me (95397166). She is my Aunt Dot (my mother's oldest sister). Thank you too for taking a photo of her grave marker and creating this memorial. It meant a lot to my mom (95 years old now) to see her sister's grave online.
Matilda Twitchell Can you tell me where you got the birth info for Matilda Ann Clark Twitchell? (Find A Grave Memorial# 39575966 ) Her parents never moved out of the New Brunswick Canada area & all of her other siblings were born in New Brunswick. I wouldn't think that she would be born in Maine. Do you have a document? Thanks!
