Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy for at least 15 years and now it's an obsession. Now that I've pretty much exhausted my ancestral cemetery searches, I have shifted my focus to more of a hobby: when I feel inspired (or lonely), I take my camera for a ride! I prefer to stop at wonderful cemeteries with especially old gravestones. For instance, most recently I was going to an out-of-town event, had my camera with me, arrived early, and slowly drove through, looking for some handsome stones with clear engraving and hoping that when I got home to check Findagrave they would not be posted yet. Bingo. I got to post a bunch and share the photos I enjoy taking & cropping & adding. Sometimes I just add photos to other memorials that have none.
It's a great place to share and a wonderful place to do research for either our own or someone else's genealogy, and for research for my next book. Friendships that develop are both meaningful and enduring.

RE: Elnoria & Edgar Mohs
Let me know when/if you find out. Sometimes I have people ask my permission to use the grave pictures in the family tree. I give them that permission as I took the pictures for public use.

No idea who is using those photos. I would have no reason as I am not a relative at all.

Dorothy nee Wilhelm Johnson
She appears to be living in Florida before her death, if the Dorothy Johnson I find under SSDI the same dates is the same woman. The Online Eau Claire WI. newspaper index for obits has her as Dorothy Wilhelm, nee Johnson, same dates. The 2008 Trinity Cemetery index from the church has her listed both ways. Take your pick?! So something might be goofed up somewhere. I can not access that paper from home, needs a trip over to the library for a look up. Further verification would be a good thing along with an explanation on her memorial page. Do you have clues? Thanks for the alert.

Hi Annie! I noticed your comment, just posted today (we must be on the same wavelength:) regarding the no dates on several Brackett memorials. I was adding a person to this cemetery and found that the cemetery has a search area, where I found a lot of the dates for folks (doesn't have other info). Did you find that as well? Such a neat old cemetery! I live in AZ and we have some older ones, but none go back this far. I was going to add the dates on some of the memorials I was finding, but wasn't sure if the folks who had them were planning to add or not.

I've gotten way too involved in this stuff as well - have even emailed back and forth with family members related to someone I've added. It's quite a nice "chat over coffee" with someone who doesn't feel like a stranger any more!

Hi,

Thank you. It is a good winter project...photograph all I can while the ground is clear, then input them during the long snow filled months.

The medallion was placed by the local American Legion on all graves of veterans in the area. My guess is that she served at one time, since it is specifically on her stone.

If she is related, I would be happy to transfer.

Gail
