I have been researching family histories for over 40 years as a hobby. I feel we should make every effort to record, remember, and honor our ancestors. Those of us who have been called to be the family historians, know it is a great responsiblility. |
The findagrave website is a wonderful resource! And I encourage everyone to down load all your cemetery information on this site. And don't forget to add pictures if you have them! We can leave a great legacy for the future!
Added 3 Jan 2015: Please feel FREE to copy any pictures or information I have without my permission. That is the whole reason I have posted what I have....to share it with others.

Hi, Back on 9-3-08 you took a photo of 2 graves in Old Mayfield Cemetery. One showed C J Patterson and the other Mary E Patterson. By chance do you have a copy that might show the information any better. I had a request from a person doing a DAR Application and I know the wording is probably difficult, but she needed , I suppose , something that was possibility more readable. Appreciate your help, Hope this finds you and your family well.
Thank you Joanne. I think adding the parents link is good for now, I will check and let you know if I would like them transferred.

Joanne, I sent a number of edits for that cemetery that are for your memorials. The e-mils(SAC's) are just information for the edits. The edits were, if I remember correctly, were for linking siblings to their parents and the headstones were placed by Tommie Carver my cousin. The edits should show under edits on your member page. Thanks for all that you have done, you have made it possible for me to find family that I might not have found. MN

Ira Dora Russell born 16 Jun 1940 listed as a child of Nannie Bell's would be after Nannie Bell Dycus, Mosley had died on 29 Jul 1932 and if Nannie had been married a Mr. Buddy Russell. This gives more evidence that Nannie Bell Dycus married Celly Mosley.
Take care, Sheilah

Nannie Bell Dycus, Mosley. I went back and looked at a few more records since I wrote you about Nannie Bell & Celly Mosley (both buried in the Mosley cemetery.) Here is the marriage record: Name: Cellie Masley(Mosley) Gender: Male Marriage Date: 6 May 1921 Marriage Place: Jackson, Tennessee, USA Spouse: Mamie (Nannie) B Dycus.
Her death certificate dated 29 Jul 1932 showed her husband as Sellie Mosley and parents Wm Dycus and Rosa Huff. On her Find A Grave memorial you have her married to a Mr. Russell. Thanks, Sheilah

Re: Find A Grave Memorial# 28967957.
Hi Joanne, I believe the above Find A Grave memorial may belong to Celly Mosley born 18 Sep 1895 in Haydenburg, Jackson, TN. His parents were Zachariah H. Mosley b. 1870 and Almeda Bell Mosley b. 1872 - d. 1928. Almeda's maiden & married surname were the same. I believe her parents were Andrew Mosley and Millie Jane Ray McCauley. Celly's given name on various records was spelled Selly, Sellie, Cellie & Celly. The Celly spelling is how the Federal Gov had his name spelled on his Social Security number card application in Apr 1949. Zachariah H. Mosley's parents were John F. Mosley & Talitha Jane Draper. My Ancestry.com tree is titled "Murphy, Long, Henson, Wright & Lamb, Plumb, Mallonee, Wilson." You and I have exchanged emails in the past regarding the Sloan, Richardson, Murphy connections. Celly may have married Mamie B. Dycus on 06 May 1921 in Jackson County. They were the parents of Willodean Mosley. Thanks for rechecking this information. Sheilah in Utah

Thank you so much for updating her memorial. I really appreciate it.
Thank you for adding the inf. Tommy was a good guy he was a few years ahead of me in school, but I remember him well. He was an avid genealogist and has many Wilson CO families on Ancestry. I think Rusty who shares his headstone must have been a pet.
