I have been working on my genealogy since I was in my teens. Sites like Find A Grave have helped me tremendously and now I am trying to return the favor to others.

If any of my memorials are of friends or family you would like to maintain please feel free to ask for a transfer.

Any photos posted by me can be used and shared as you wish. If I have posted one to your memorial and you do not wish it to be there for any reason just let me know and I will be glad to remove it. I am trying to be sure there is a photo to accompany every memorial but have no wish to upset anyone.

Corrections and additional information for my memorials are always welcome.

RE: Edwin Murrie
I added the photo and the only thing I have is the info under the photo and I left that attached. It does say at the top of the page: STAFF Non-commissioned Officers.
Thanks

Newton C. Murrie (1837-1878)
Below is my entry for your "Newton C. Murrie" and his father, "Mathias Murry", in my 200-page Name Index of my 1.046-page book that is from handwritten records. The 6th edition of my book will be printed in February 2015.
.
Newton C. Murrie (1837 TX-1878 RRiv Co) m-K. Fishback; Whitfield's 27th Cav, Co F, Lt (Lt, Red Riv Co, TST)
.
MURRY, Mathias (Walter) Murry, d-bef 1850 Red River cen p255, m-Martha, ch: Felix, Newton, M. Luther, and Jeff (1838 Edmondson's Riflemen & 1838 Hamilton's Company)
.
All four of his boys were soldiers in Confederate military units organized in Red River County TX. Yes, all four are listed in my book.
.
I think the "Mathias Murry" listed in Robert S. Hamilton's Company organized in 1838 Red River County is the same person as the "Walter Murry" listed in Wm. Edmondson's 1838 Northeast Texas militia. I also found a Mathen Murry of that era and place ... Mathen sounds like Mathias. .. Yes, a handwritten Walter may appear as a Mathen .. You can find Edmondson's and Hamilton's 1838 militias on the Texas Archives web site.
.
Keep in mind that I have worked for over 22 years on these handwritten records of North Texas. The reason we have seen very few books about the Civil War after 1862 in North Texas is that it must be studied as a block: between OKC, Dallas, Texarkana and Childress TX. If requested, I will send ONE-page via e-mail to illustrate this concept.
