|Bio and Links|
The Yucaipa Valley Genealogical Society was created in 1982. The first Board of Directors was: President; Bonnie Jacobsen, Vice President; John Reynolds, Recording Secretary; Rosalind Bennett, Treasurer; Eloise Cunningham. At the close of 1982 there was a total of 59 members of which 53 were Charter Members.|
In 2007, under the presidency of Jamie Daniel, the canvassing of Desert Lawn Memorial Park was started.
In 2008, under the presidency of Gena Ortega, the indexing of birth, marriage and death records reported in the Yucaipa-Calimesa News Mirror was added as an additional project.
In 2009, under the presidency of Earl Giddings, an enormous data-base was created to combine all of the previous efforts and includes thousands of photographs of tombstones to be entered on, not only the Society records but also on Find A Grave.
In 2010, under the presidency of Floyd Ferguson, we are adding information on three other local cemeteries; Stewart Sunnyslope, San Gorgonio and Mountain View.
Since many tombstones provide only the year of birth and death, we have undertaken the project to locate additional information from the Social Security Death Index, California Death Index, California Birth Index, California Marriage Index and our YVGS data-base.
We are aware that some of the CADI information of surnames and maiden names are not always spelled correctly but hope they will be beneficial.
When doing your research, you find we have made an incorrect entry, please notify us.
We have no estimate of when these projects will be completed .
We hope we have helped you with your search and welcome you to visit our website.

|Deborah||The Mysterious Woman Who Drove By|
Thank you so much Yucaipa Valley Genealogical Society for all your work putting this site together. Without your information I would not have found this woman. Mavis Duge Sauls Blanke
Until today 1/12/2014 I had only met her once when I was 15 years old. I was adopted and while sitting at my friends house in the front yard Mavis drove by. I did not know who she was. But I found out in 2011 (a year before you posted this) that she was my birth mother's friend. She drove by us sitting outside she saw me and said "Deborah how's Gertrude?) Due to my hesitation and shocked look she said "I'd sorry, you don't know her" and she sped off. That was the year 1969. One glimpse then and now today with your photo. Mavis must have been a friend of my birth mother's I was adopted at 3 days old. My adopted (my parents) knew of her through my birth mother. I never had a name to put with the face until 2011 when a friend of my parents answered my question. "Who could that have been". Today my search is complete. Much love to you...you have solved a mystery.
Former resident of Yucaipa, California from 1954 - 1976. Graduated from Yucaipa Highschool and that is where my parents found my birth mother working for a Dr. in Yucaipa. You mentioned Mavis marrying Edwin 26 JUN 1937 Long Beach CA. My birth mother moved down to Belflower area and she met my birth father Raymond Christopher Ferrel (Pherrel) changed name in Vernon CA.
Thank you for the Introduction

|Ivan Erwin||RE: Kenneth & Richard Adams|
I appreciate very much that your group has done all of this work. Kenneth & Richard are my second cousins. Their father, John Adams, is the son (my first cousin) of my Father's Sister, Alma Adams. It appears that all of the family links are present on Find A Grave so I have no further information to add at this time. I would be happy to take over management of these two memorials. It is unfortunate that these two children predeceased their parents. Thanks Ivan Erwin

No transfer needed, the links will be fine. All the children seem to have dropped the double N in favor of a single N. Krienert the correct spelling. Thank you for your help here.

Have linked Emily to her spouse, John F Parker and requested contributor include dates of birth & death for her.
Thank you so much for the transfers of my family members :)
