Hello I'm John T. Griffith, born in Oceanside California, a Viet Nam War US Army MP Veteran and a former CHP Officer. In September 2002, I assisted the National Archives Center, Missouri, in replacing lost and destroyed US Army files. It was during that research project I discovered Find A Grave, wanted to be a part of it's concept and became a member. I have always had a passion for history and the people who have lived it. People in everyday life who through the needs and demands of their times shaped the world. I believe each day is a gift and the best part of any day is that day. I'm also a professional musician, still performing and haved shared the stage with many named artists. In addition, I'm a vintage guitar expert who has contributed, plus co-wrote for many vintage guitar books and articles in magazines about the subject. Plus I'm a photographer, writer and historian, for the San Diego Reader. I will gladly transfer any of my bios to relatives or folks with a concerned interest. I, my wife Mary and our Dachshund "Timmy", reside in Vista, California. Thanks and best regards, John|

Thanks so much for posting the picture & information on Gen. John H. Pearson. He is my fifth great grandfather through his daughter, Mary Pearson McKemie. I would appreciate any other information you have on him or his family. I have a copy of his will & some notes given to me.
Thanks for your military service. We lost my husband's brother in Viet Nam. He was a Marine. We have two grandsons who are currently serving. One is an Army recruiter & the other is a Marine.

Hello again John, and many thanks for the ok on using Tommy Armour's picture. Find A Grave is such a wonderful site! We lived on Lynmar Lane in Vista, near Bringle Terrace Park (it's an older but quiet/nice area), but have since retired and we're living up in WA state, out in the islands. Our daughter still lives there in Vista, so we make lots of trips. What's the name of your band?
Again, my thanks for volunteering here on Find A Grave -

At the outset I am seizing the opportunity to offer profound thanks for your service to our republic while in the Army, and later as a member of the CHP in protecting the citizens of California.
My compliments on your very credible and succinct biography you submitted on Bvt BG John S. Witcher (Find A Grave Memorial# 5995216). Your writing seemed to indicate a mastery of your subject's life. I'd like to inquire if you are a Witcher descendant?
Regardless, my thanks to you, regards to Mary, and my best to Timmy. Should you need any doors kicked here in DC just let me know.

Thanks, John. I totally agree....I did not realize that the yellow star indicated 'famous.' I apologize and will try and get the other one deleted. Thanks again for your explanation. Gen Gibson was quite a hero!
