Bio and Links
Bio Photo It is important that we remember those who have lived before us for they have, in many ways, prepared us for who we are today.

Family names Lark, Dee, Heiman, Housman, Loper.

I have a very special spot in my heart for veterans and members of law enforcement. I believe it is important to support our police officers and troops. Where would we be without them?

I believe every memorial should have a virtual flower. When I see one without, I add one; it's an honor to leave my respects. That person was once loved and cherished by someone, somewhere.

Feel free to use any photos. Please do not post death certificates on the memorials.

THE CEMETERY PHOTOGRAPHER

Wandering among the stones I see
The stones so weathered and worn
ĎTis difficult to find the date
On which the babe was born

I stare at the stone and am struck with awe
At the life that I knew was gone
This was someone's child, a babe so sweet
With loved ones to carry on

So I take a photo for all to see
For the family that remains
An everlasting memory of
A child of God's domain

I brush the weeds back from the stone
And say a silent prayer
For the babes that had no chance to live
And for mothers everywhere

The dove calls out it's mourning song
Among the stones so still
Echoes of the woes, through time
The choirs of despair

The stone will someday perish
The flowers will be gone
But a photo now remains of this
Their memory lives on!

And so my friend, don't hesitate
To film the weathered stone
Those who live within your hearts
Are never truly gone

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Jacob Boenzle
Dear Gracie,

I wonder if you could help me determine if the
Jacob Boenzle you posted on findagrave is my relative. I can't read the headstone real well.

I am a descendant of Maria Boenzle Kipp (my gr gr grandmother) who was the sister of a Jacob Boenzle. I believe he moved to Missouri and in looking at the Missouri death records and the obituaries in the St. Louis Dispatch (18 Nov 1908), I thought Jacob had died on 17 Nov 1908 and was buried in a Catholic cemetery. I know my Jacob was born 16 Sep 1828 and baptized on 28 Sep 1828 in Switzerland. I believe, but not positive, that he was a 2nd husband to Dora Becker Boenzle who was first married to his brother John Boenzle (who died in Illinois).

I actually thought that the date of birth on Jacobís headstone looked more like 28 Sep 1828 rather than 1839. I canít read the date of death very well. Do you know anything else about Jacob?

Gracieís Grammy,
Thank you so much for taking such a lovely picture of Abe and Veraís headstones. You are very kind to have done this so quickly and it will help me complete the family tree book that I am working on for an upcoming family reunion.
