|I am able to send photos of grave markers in the Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys, CA if you need them.|
Since I am located in Calaveras County, CA, one of the gold rush areas, I do genealogical look-ups for people searching for ancestors may have been in that county in the 1800s.
In the gold rush area, family lines were Figaro, Foppiano, Periano, Maletesta, Airola, Miller.
My family lines are Kelly/Davis/O'Bannon & Elliott and also Mittelstet, all of them being in the area of OK, KS.

|RobMinteer57||more on maintaining memorials|
Since the new edit system went Site-wide, there have been new Tabs added on our Home Pages, which I just noticed today. One says "Edits sent to me that I approved"--I clicked on it out of curiosity, and found that since May 22 there have been 19,979 of those...you do the math. I also get dozens of "old" SACs every day, too.
|RobMinteer57||not maintaining my memorials any longer?|
I get around 100 Edits every day--and take care of them every day. You need to check a little more closely before adding duplicates...send me the updates and they will be done THAT DAY!!! Don't go spreading your belief that I'm no longer maintaining my memorials, when you never even tried sending any info before adding dupes...
|Kathryn Cox||Shelton entries|
Thanks for all the entries you have made for the Shelton family. They have certainly allowed me to learn more about a few distant cousins. However, I am puzzled by the Native American on Stephen Ellsworth Shelton #95338504. I've not seen that designation for any of his ancestors back to the 18th century. Can you fill me in on the source of that information? Thanks. Kathryn

Thanks for the update. I took him out of Buena Vista and placed him into unknown.

I don't have a firm date. I would think the pregnancy would have occurred early in the marriage (1/16/1895)- maybe the end of 1895, early 1896? She was so ill - she probably would have been pregnant soon after marriage and not later. Just a guess.

John Manuel and Mary Malspina Manuel had an infant daughter who only lived for two days, according to her niece, my main source of family information. She recorded that Mary almost died of typhoid fever following this event.
I wonder if there is any record in the local newspaper or any way to tie the gravesite with their infant.
|personna||Joseph Bright Wiles - Memorial# 108540382|
Hello - I've been looking for this family without luck for awhile now. Can you please tell me how you determined Joseph was buried here? I've been to the cemetery and thought I got to all the tombstones, but I might be thinking of a different cemetery or I just missed a stone.
I know there are a lot of burials in Vallecito #1 that relate to the Wiles family. Have you had any luck finding information on his wife? I must not be looking in the right places, but I keep trying.
Thank you for telling me your source for the burial. I've known he was most likely there but wouldn't enter it in my database without some kind of support. - Nancy

Thank-you for the information.
On familysearch Emily E Joy married Charles Henry Sept. 12,1915 in Stockton. He was born in England.
Emilys father was John Decker born in Germany. Emilys mother Sarah O'Donal? born in Ireland.

Here is what I have on Ella Mill, if this might help. She married Frank Taaffe, July 29, 1903 in Tehama County. I do not know if they divorced or he died. She second married Louis Elfers, July 16, 1913 in San Rafael. He died in 1929 in Madera County. Because her name when she died was Swenson, I just figured her third husband was George O. Swenson. They are listed together in the 1940 census living in Tuolumne county. Thanks, Steve (I have a distant and indirect connection to Louis Elfers, so do not have any additional information.)

Sadly I've never been able to find any document with his name on it after 1896. No census or anything
