"What is called my character, or nature, is made of infinite particles of inherited tendencies from my ancestors-those whose blood runs in my veins. A little seed of laziness comes from this grandfather; and of prodigality from that other one. One of them may have been a moody person and a pessimist; while another was of a jovial nature who always saw the sunny side; while another ambitious one never was contented with actual conditions whatever they were. Some remote grandmother, perhaps, has stamped me with a fear of dogs and a love of horses. There may be in me a bit of outlawry from some pirate forefather and a dash of piety from one who was a saint.|
My so-called particularities, my gestures, my ways and mannerisms, I borrowed from all. Without any exception. So everything in me passes on through my children. I am sewn between ancestry and posterity. I am a drop of water in the flowing river of time. A molecule in a mountain; a cell in a great family tree."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes

I question the grave photo you have for Esther. Looks more like it belongs to her son, not her. Can you verify?? I would expect her to be buried with her husband, Jerome.

I love that cemetery, too. My first time there was just two years ago for my husband's grandmother's (130289251) funeral. It was only early April but we had a gorgeous, sunny 70 degrees, and the grass had already greened up. How neat that you live so close!
Feel free to email me if you want to chat non-publicly. My husband has loads of family in Fountain City; maybe we have friends or even genes in common. :)
Thanks much for the transfer today. If you'd be okay with it, I'd happily manage the rest of the family:
Louis Fernholz 96953411
George Fernholz 96954105
Frank Fernholz 96954658
Thanks again for what you do! :)

I'd happily manage them if you're sure you don't mind. They're my husband's ancestors. Thanks!
Thanks for the gorgeous picture you took for my husband's ancestors, Elmer and Belva Ruben! It's a very pretty shot.

I just wanted to thank you for taking the photos of the Stettler family's headstones for me. I appreciate you going to all the trouble, especially to get them so quickly!
Thank you again.
Hi Anna Mae!
I was delighted to find the information you've shared about the Elmhorst line of your family tree. We are cousins of some sort...
After a conversation with my father over Thanksgiving I decided to start doing some research with the information I have. My paternal Grandmother was Emma Caroline Dorothy Elmhorst. 1908-1996. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease and spoke very fondly of her childhood and parents (Heinrich and Martha (Desens) Elmhorst) toward the end of her life. I would love to share any other information/photos you have about Heinrich and Louisa and Heinrich and Martha with the rest of my family. I have some limited information about all of Emma's siblings...

Glad to be of service to one who honors her ancestors so well.

Sorry I missed your message.
I would be interested in sharing what I have on BRANDT/ELMHORST. I operate on FTM software and can send you reports via E-Mail. My E-Mail is email@example.com- Send me a message so we can hook up.
My connection is Sophie BALGEMANN (1807-1882)my ancestor) marrying Friedrich BRANDT (1804-1871)in Landesbergen, GER in 1832. They never emigrated, but some or all of their children did. Therefore, all the ancestors are cousins of some sort.
One of their daughters married an ELMHORST and then the connection to ELMHORST also.
