Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been very envolved in searching down my ancestors for 30 years. Finding a new cemetery is very exciting and when I find a new little one I over indulge and tend to photograph the entire site. My pictures and Internments are all individuals that have somehow found their way into my ever growing family tree.
Currently I live in Eastern Iowa along the Mississippi River which is a wonderful starting place for journeys in search of my early ancestors.

I hope you enjoy my pictures and the information I have tried to share

RE: Roan Mountain Miller Cemeteries
It's the map location and address. Your memorials and pictures were placed in one of the Miller Cemetery down in the valley. They need to be moved to Miller Cemetery with a map location up on the mountain at the plantation where you took them. Sorry for the confusion. If I can help let me know. Thanks!

Roan Mountain Miller Cemeteries
There are at least four Miller Cemeteries in the Roan Mountain area. It’s easy to get them mixed up but for people using find a grave to find and visit people’s graves location is important.
All of the following memorials you manage that are in the Miller cemetery on Heaton Creak Road (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=15637) and the cemetery picture you added there belong in the Miller Cemetery on the Miller Plantion at this link (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GScid=15654&GRid=147225145&CRid=15654&). You can transfer the memorial to the correct cemetery by using the (edit burial) key on the memorial.
I wish there was an easier way to make the corrections but I can't think of one that won't create other problems to fix correct. I live in the area and have been working for a couple of years to sort out the Carter County Find a Grave cemetery issues. We've made progress but there is still lots of work to do. Thanks so much for your help. I'll get find a grave to correct the cemetery picture. Thanks so much for your help.

RE: Heacock Family
Thanks so much, Mark!
Asbury is my hometown/homestead where my parents farmed for 26 yrs before selling and moving to Cedar Rapids. Although I am currently a couple states away, we already have a headstone in place in the Asbury Cemetery, which is where I'll eventually be returned home, lol!

Hi Mr. Bennett,
I'm adding documents and references to my Ancestry.com account family tree and came across this memorial of my paternal grandfather.
I was wondering, first of all, if you would be willing to transfer it to me?
His birth date is actually Oct. 17, 1891 - but is listed as Sept. 1892, even though a photo of the grave marker contradicts it, lol!
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks,

~ Sandy Staat

Pulaski County KY Jones Surname
Pulaski County KY Jones Surname

Hi!

I am trying to find my oldest-known grandfather’s grave. I’ll call him “Father Jones”. It is reported that he died in Pulaski County, Kentucky. I cannot find a grave or any records on him. If you have any information on him or know of someone I can contact, please let me know!!

Father Jones had four sons; Alexander, James, Robert, William and Thomas. Thomas was the only one born in Pulaski County around 1800. Father Jones died between Thomas’ birth and the War of 1812. It is stated that Father Jones died prior to his son Robert joining the War of 1812.

Any help that anyone can provide would be GREATLY appreciated!!

RE: Thank you so much for picture
Mark,
Thank you for your response! I thought your name seemed familiar. Landon and Mary have been a challenge for me to figure out. I have so enjoyed over the years searching for family members and learning about them. Paschal Chapel has been interesting. He was a horse back riding circuit Methodist minister and traveled between Kentucky and Missouri preaching along the way. Thanks for all you do in your volunteer work. It is appreciated so much!

Thank you so much for picture
Of marker for Paschal Chapel Newell and Clara (Yates) Newell. They are my great grandparents. Their son, John Solomon Newell married Maude Estelle Hoots and had my father, Howard Orland Newell. I really appreciate your time and efforts as a volunteer!
