I am listed in the 1940 census, so dont let the young photo I posted fool you. I have slowed a little since the photo was taken.|
I was born and grew up, and still live in Roanoke County. I have lived in Colorado, Texas and in Great Bridge, VA. My wife Barbara (deceased) and I were married, 50+ years ago and have two children, 3 grand children and one great grandson.
If I have posted and you notice a mistake please let me know and I will correct as soon as possible. If you have additional information for a person whose record I've created, please feel free to e-mail me, I will be happy to make any appropriate changes.
NOTICE: PHOTOS of family members of my current lines - DO NOT TAKE without asking!!!! I have recently found my parents grandparents aunts uncles on other personal sites. We are online to share information with family: BUT not without asking .. COPYRIGHT photos of precious parent /family photos etc are NOT TO BE TAKEN!!
If a family member of any memorial that I have created would like to maintain that memorial, please contact me I will be happy to transfer it to you, if this person is not one of my family members.

|Celtic Queen||Willis Zachriah Peters|
I would like to know where you found that Willis' middle name is Zachriah. I've been researching this Peters family for more than 36 years. Willis was the son of Zachariah Peters and Kesiah Lively, but I've never seen a record that gave Willis a middle name.
Also, Ruth Smith did not have a middle name that we know of. Her father was Gideon Smith.
Is it possible that the person who provided the this information had the habit of inserting the father's first name as the middle name of his children? If so, that is not an acceptable way to record genealogical information, since it creates confusion.
Thanks for all your work on Find A Grave!

Appears you did all the work on this cemetery back in 2012. Where is it located?

Personally I get my information from the Red Bank Register so I do not know for a fact that Ruth is in fact buried in Fair View Cemetery but it does have two "locations" - one is a mailing address of Red Bank New Jersey and the other location is Middletown NJ
If you have her buried in another cemetery I would urge you to explore which cemetery Ruth is buried in
|Al Linton||RE: relation|
Cousins once removed is the same as saying 2x. Barbara and I are separated from Eliza Jane Yopp McDaniel and Leafye Ann Yopp Blankenship by one generation.
In previous message, Ocie Blankenship Yopp should read Freddie Lee Yopp. Ocie was my grandfather's double first cousin.
|Al Linton||RE: Harvey Lewis Yopp|
I am a cousin once removed to your wife, Barbara.
My mother, Lucy Blankenship Linton Duncan, is a first cousin of Eva McDaniel Edwards. My mother's first cousin, Texanna Blankenship married 1st James Riley Edwards. As you know, the McDaniels, Duncans, Palmers, Yopps and Blankenships are quite interrelated. There were three (3) Yopp-Blankenship marriage alliances of which my said mother, Ocie Blankenship Yopp and Effie Yopp Davis were issued. My mother enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her cousins, Texanna, Eva, anf Effie.
