I know your frustration, but you are far too valuable to Find A Grave. Theresa RaNae is nothing but a self centered spoiled brat. Joe you have so much more class than that twit could ever hope to have.
I left her a message yesterday and she deleted it quite quickly.
Please take care my Find A Grave friend, I'm behind you 100 %.

Hey Joe - Just wanted to say thanks for all the great work you've done. Close to 70K photos is amazing! Considering it takes about a minute just for FG to take an uploaded photo that makes about 1K hours just for the uploads. Add in the leg work, doing a bit of site cleanup, shooting and documenting the photo in the field (watching out for shadows and sun), occasional editing to make sure the photo is straight and doesn't have a foot in the view (I've done that more than I care to admit), making sure it's not a duplicate, etc., and a person can probably multiply those 1K hours by a factor of 5 or 10. Now compare that to a 40 hour a week job that is typically under 2K hours per year.
(RANT MODE ON)
To have someone casually dismiss such work as mere 'grave walking' provides about as good an example of shallow and self-absorbed thinking as any of us is likely to see.
As for questions about FG policies and procedures people really should try reading the FAQ before posting public messages. If someone doesn't like FG policies either take it up with the admins or spend time elsewhere at a site like billion graves where there is plenty of wide open space.
(RANT MODE OFF)
Anyways, thanks again Joe for all the volunteer work and enjoy the upcoming summer.

That is the kind of road trip I'd LOVE to take (maybe I can talk my hubby into it for our 25th). Very cool! And again...excellent work!
|Mary E. Warner||Linking|
I just requested a linking for a daughter to her father several minutes ago. Joe has already done it! Thanks, Joe.
I am thankful that there are so many volunteers who either gather cemetery lists and enter them into Findagrave, or actually go to the cemeteries and take a headstone photo and then enter the memorial with the headstone photo.
There are only a few creators of memorials who will not transfer if a relationship is shown, even if it is one's 2nd cousin, several times removed. Of course, I am writing a Warner genealogy book, and I have over 1,000 entries complete with census records, links, etc. because I care AND I'm curious to know where my Warner-related folks settled down. It is history that I am working on...and I enjoy it.
Be kind, folks, and appreciate contributors such as Joe.
|Mark's Mom||Just stopping by to say hi.|
I was just updating some of my memorials and came across a couple of your entries, and thought I'd stop by and say hi.
I must tell you what a perfect gentleman you are, I didn't mean to read the numerous messages left for you from Theresa RaNae, but, I was bothered by them and her attitude and found her to be quite rude to you. She didn't even give you a week to do the transfer before she was threatening to add a new memorial. I know it's really none of my business, but, I know how hard you work at what you do, and I know you have helped me many a times.
I'm hope you aren't bothered by what I wrote.
Keep up the great work and thank you not only for what you do on Find A Grave, but, thank you for your service to our country.
|GeekyGraveGirl||OK... I'm in awe....|
Wow... you have taken a lot of pictures! I find that impressive, and really appreciate some of your photos I've found on memorials of my family in Kansas. Thanks for all your hard work (though, like me, you must enjoy it immensely!).
