I have been an avid genealogist in Perry Co. for over 35 years. I have researched my family in Letcher, Perry, Breathitt, Magoffin, Morgan, Leslie, Clay, Lee and Owsley counties. I have research on the Campbell, Couch, Dixon, Combs, Cornett, Feltner, Williams, Whitely, Haney, Gullet and others that came into my family as I researched. I became a member of FAG while trying to find my grandfather's lost grave in Magoffin Co. My husband and I started taking pictures of the cemeteries in Perry Co. to help people find their lost loved ones. We are attempting to photograph the cemeteries in Perry county. I will do transfers within the four Generation FAG guideline that include: Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents and great grandparents. Sorry, no transfers to aunts, uncles or cousins. I try to be accommodating but I will not tolerate rudeness. If any of my memorials need to be edited, please contact me using the edit button. Also I will try to help if you are having trouble research your family members. Thanks|

I agree, very sad. Which website do i need to look at for the combs family tree you were talking about? i googled it & a bunch popped up, I looked at a lot of them but have not found the correct one.

I do not have a death certificate for Bessie Combs. I am going to contact the County where she died to get a copy of it. I saw the 1910 Letcher Co census that showed Bessie age 14, she was the last child listed which I thought was strange since they list children from oldest to youngest. She is older than all the other kids. It also shows Matilda has given birth to 7 children & 6 are still living. There are 7 children listed. With Bessie being the last one listed I wondered if she was John's child by another woman or Matilda's child by another man or if she was adopted. I did not know about the Combs Family Website, I'm going to check it out. The court record is awesome!!! What does it mean "to be trade of a spinster?" I am greatly appreciate all the info you have given me!! I am still new to genealogy & not sure of where to look for somethings. I will let you know what the death certificate shows!!!
I cant thank you enough for your help in Combs genealogy. My grandfather never talked about his family and his parents were long-dead before I was born. You are a wonderful resource and I thank you for your patience.

This particular cemetery is our family cemetery and we visit it often.
THis particular cemetery is at the entrance as you come onto the property and this property belonged to our family. And I did take the photo myself this last visit. I belong to the DAR and we are trying to get family history straightened out and completed.
We have always counted both our cemetery and the Combs-Roark as separate cemeteries.
The family members in this cemetery are:
William Lorenzo Combs my great great grandfather
Margaret Kelly Combs my great great grandmother
Thomas Combs their son
Shadrack Combs a brother to William
Supposedly an Adams that was married to Shadrack is buried there as well. This particular entry was made by someone else. There are 2 markers there off to the side that we do not know who they belong to.
Thanks ever so for your inquiry.

Thank you for the information on Bessie Combs Caudill!! All I had for her was word of mouth from family that her parents were John Combs & Millie Kinser & that Bessie was born out of wedlock. I do know that she has a sister named Della & she married a man with the last name of Ebles. I am going to check into getting her birth & death certificate. My Aunt found a record that showed Bessie's dad was James Combs, mom was Millie Kinser & they did have a daughter out of wedlock named Bessie. But then she was told Bessie's dad was David Combs & he worked for the rail road & he was run over by a train & killed. So, I have more research to do!! I greatly appreciate your time & helping me with Bessie. If you come across anything else, please let me know.
Have a great week!!!

Sam Ray Caudill & Bessie Combs are my Great Grandparents. They are from Letcher Co, Kentucky. I am stuck on Bessie. Born 1-28-1896 Died 7-30-1972. Is Bessie part of your Combs research?
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I greatly appreciate the photos of the headstones for Ervin & Nancy!!! I have been searching for them for awhile & was not certain they were even in this cemetery. There are a lot of Roark Cemeteries! You have made my day!!!!! :) :)
