I've been adding older memorials in my area over the winter months and plan to go out, find and photograph them when it warms up. Any information you have to add to any of my memorials would be appreciated. I search the old newspapers for old obits. and also look up the death certificates, as sometimes the obit. does not give specific birthdates, parents, etc...this information is not always correct, but if it is there, I will list it and make a note where that info. came from. If you want me to add information or change anything, please list your source.|
I have no problem with transfers if they are not related to me.
Any of my headstone photos may be used anywhere you'd like, I only ask that you give me credit for the photo.

Thanx for the transfer of the Jeremiah S. Noll memorial.

I don't know if he is related to me or not. I do have some Rhodes in my family, but since I could not didn't anything on him other than the burial record and the one census, I don't know of a connection.
If I find a connection to my other Rhodes family members I will let you know.

I came across, by accident, your memorial for John H Rhodes. I saw the note and it intrigued me. I don't know anything about him and found only this on ancestry.com which helps a bit with the birth year:
Name: John Rhodes
Birth: abt 1843
Death: 4 Jan 1876 - Chambersburg, Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA
However, when I clicked on the actual document. it shows he was buried in Fayetteville Cemetery!
I also found this:
Age in 1870:
Home in 1870:
Chambersburg North Ward, Franklin, Pennsylvania
Value of Real Estate:
Thadeus Mahon 30
Martha Mahon 24
John Rhodes 27
Is there a wife buried with him? Or any children?
Houpt's index lists a Henrietta Rhodes on the same page as John in the Cedar Grove Cemetery book

Thanks so much for the transfer of my great uncle. His father, Isaac B Doyle, my 3rd ggf, is next to him, as well as his mother, Rebecca Brown Doyle, who is my 3rd ggm... and your memorial made is easier to find their markers...so thank you so much!!!
Can you transfer Thomas Sharar?

Sorry I have taken so long in getting back with you. It has taken sometime to check my research. Your information is correct in reference to Joseph Middower. I have started to make the corrections. I'll be sending you link requests before long. I have also noted on my memorials the spelling change of Joseph Middower's last name.
I wanted to be sure, I thanked you for taking the time to bring the question to my attention.
Hope you can help me out. I was making a memorial for a Middower. I photographed it in Cedar Grove, Chambersburg. I'm not related, but I like to try to add information to my memorials. In researching, I found that the name is likely Middour, not Middower, as is on the monument. The names are Joseph & Frances V. (Beam) Middour/Middower. They both died in 1909. Joseph's death certificate states his parents were Jacob & Barbara Hess Middour. I see you have Joseph as one of Jacob's sons, but his wife is not Frances. I am stumped on this one...especially with the name being spelled Middower on the stone... I want to get it right. Any help is appreciated. Here is the memorial # for Joseph 144729553
