Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love to do genealogy research on my family as well as other families. I gained a love for the history of the War Between the States when I learned through my research of the service my ancestors gave to the cause of the Confederate Army. Some were captured and inprisoned and died fighting for their cause. Many of my ancestors served in WW1, WW2, the Korean War and Viet Nam War. I am proud of my ancestors and what they did for their beliefs.

Just a few of my family names are: Campbell, Redding, Cope, Fuller, Lowe, Dasher, Rowell, McMullen,Kolb, Neil, Creamer, Schumacher, English, Smith, Harper, Mason, Anderson.

Hi Jean,

Thank you so much for the information on this soldier! I have updated his memorial and transferred it to you. I love it when someone finds their ancestor (or a spouse's ancestor) here. There are lot of lost boys buried in this part of the cemetery and I am so happy that even a handful of them have been claimed by descendants.

Could you give me directions to cedar grove cemetery. A relation from way back is buried there but no one can seem to find the cemetery.
Thanks Charles Echols

Vernon Kujath
Hi Jean
Is there any way I could get a photo of Vernon (892611) that is not cropped so close. I would like to be able to see the whole marker with a bit of free space as a border. I hope you don't take offense. Shall I put a new photo request?

Thanks
Phil

Artemas Johnson
Thank you for pointing out Artemas Johnson on the Memorial. That is not his grave site. That is a Civil War Memorial. His Gravesite was lost on Long Pond at either the Upper Long Pond Cemetery or the Moulton Cemetery. He died there and was buried there. I included him in a book on Civil War Veterans from the area. He is not buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. His name is on a memorial there. I think it important to state that. I appreciate you adding photos, to honor your families veteran. I fought to get him on the downtown monument. I also fought to get him a Veteran Gravestone, at the Upper Long Pond Cemetery. I also fought to save that cemetery from being built on by a Gun Club looking to develop the land he may be buried at. If you would really like to help, contact the town office and ask why they refuse to mark or fence where he is buried, and why you can't install a Veteran Gravestone free from the government where he is buried on that lost cemetery.

Oh and one more thing?
I believe he had a wife named Myrtle. Is there a marker for her nearby? If so, let me know so I can make a page for her and put in a request. That way you get credit for the photo. Thanks again.

Jean:
Thank you for photographing Ernest. I am researching that branch of the tree and the photo helps. May I make a request? The next time you are out there, can you take another photo zoomed out a bit so I can see the shape of the stone or marker? I can't tell if its a marker or monument. Thanks so much!
