Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired from a life in business, reserve law enforcement and college teaching. I live in Portage, Michigan, with my wife Vicki and my border collie, Abbey. I have been doing genealogy for my family since 1965.

I will be happy to make additions to a memorial for you if you go through the Find-a-grave procedure.

I will also transfer memorials if the person is a relative and if you go through the Find-a-grave procedure.

A 'please' and 'thank you' will go a long way toward expediting your request. I cannot believe how many people ask for my assistance without this common courtesy. Delays may occur without them.

I have no sentimental attachment to the photos I take in cemeteries and you are free to use them for personal or genealogical uses.

Jack

RE: Mary A. Risden
Hello Jack:

You are the man, you did a lot of changes for my
family records this weekend!

For Mary Ann Graham Risden, my great great grandmother, I made copy of grave marker photo and opened the photo up with Windows Paint Program, enlarged it 100 percent, and it reads" 63 years old, 8 mos and 26 dys....". Do we have to put what the inscription says on the memorial, or can we just leave it off? The dates are still 1 year off with my calculations. Whatever you think is best, but at least change 84 to 63.

Thanks again,

Gary Elkins

RE: Mary A. Risden
Dear Jack:

Mary Ann Risded was born in 1924, and passed away when she was 64 years old, not 84. I don't know where the info came from about her age. Please delete it or change it to 65 years for our family, the part about "rest in peace.

Thank you so much for this help that you did for our family, it is really appreciated and will be helpful over the years long after we all are gone.

Thank you for transferring Carl's memorial to me. I always appreciate those folks who do favors for me. I lived in Portage and taught school there for many years. We live in FL now, but are here in Portage visiting our daughter for a few weeks.
Thanks again.

Lucas Lapekas
Hi Jack
His name should read Lucas LAPEKAS, not Lucas Lake. LAKE was his wife, Mable's maiden name.
Thanks
