My ancestry.com tree has over 100,000 fully researched individuals from information I paid for with annual subscriptions to Geneologybankc.com Archives.com, 3fold, or information gained from buying obits from libraries, Rutherford etc and filled death, birth and marriage certificates I paid for and added to my tree to verify the individuals were the correct people I worked full time 7 days a week for over 5 years....and with the new ancestry.com awful new profile format, I am dropping all ancestry research after June 2016 when my ancestry account expires. |
I will miss comparing notes with thousands of people around the world but ancestry.com betrayed its consumers both by forcing an awful new format upon us, dumping TreeMaker and colluding with police and GOogle with our DNA. (See below)
On 15 December 2015, everyone will be forced to use the new gallery ancestry.com page. I will not be renewing my ancestry.com world/USA account after June 2016. I tried to use the new gallery profile page full time for 2 weeks and despise it. It creates duplicate birth/death certificates (ancestry.com copy AND my personal copy side by side) as well as it is just too busy to bother with ruining what used to be a full time ancestry research project for me. In May 2016, I am trying to find another paid site like ancestry.com so if someone know of one let me know.
Conveniently at same time, ancestry.com is forcing people to use their new awful gallery profile program, they are dumping TreeMaker..after 2015. Wen Treemaker ends, there will be no way to download the photos, death, birth, marriage certificate with your tree to keep for yourself or move to another ancestry type website.
I feel ancestry.com dumped TreeMaker to keep customer trapped because they know millions hate their new ancestry.com gallery profile page but won't want to move if they cannot take their pictures and other attachments with them.
Ancestry.com has also been busy working with police and Google - SEE BELOW

I did not make the link on her memorial as to her husband is.
|Janet K||Sandra Kay Wood|
You had photo requests in for:
George T Dunn
Zula (Hill) Dunn
Dorothy M (Dunn) Wood
in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw, MI.
I photographed them and added edits to their memorials with corrections etc....
I also found an Infant/Baby buried in the Lot:
Sandra Kay Wood ~ Find A Grave Memorial# 162266911
I created the memorial, but I'm wondering if you know if she is the daughter of Melville and Dorothy Wood?

As far as Francis M. Hunts parents all I can find out is they were both born in New York no names.
Marion Jones Hunt's parents are A. Jones and Rassmussen both born in New York.
The last reference of the son Francis G. Hunt is the 1930 Census at has him single living with his parents in Traverse City.

|Victor D. HILDRETH||Elizabeth "Libby" Hildreth McLain|
Hi My Name Is Victor D. HILDRETH. This Was My Great-Grandfather's Sister. Elizabeth "Libby" Hildreth McLain, Birth: Jan. 5, 1849, USA. Death: Oct. 29, 1876, USA. Burial: Spring Lake Cemetery, Spring Lake, Ottawa County, Michigan, USA.
I Just Thought I Would Send You An Update On This Post. If You Go To The Find-a-grave Post For Her You Will Notice That I Posted Libbie's Marker. I Took That Picture Back In The Early 1990s. But The Last Time I Was There The Marker Had Broken & Was Laid Against The Tree. Now Because Of Your Post, I Need To Revisit The Cemetery & Find Out What Has Happened To Her Marker. The Cemetery Didn't Have My Family's Permission To Remove It. Also You Should Know That Libbie Is Buried Next To Her Sister Eliza HILDRETH, Who Died In 1856. You Can Find Her Find-a-grave Post With A Picture Of Her Marker Too. They Are Both In The HILDRETH Family Plot That Has Been In My Family Since 1873.
I Guess My Main Concern Is For The Future. If I Need You To Help Me Make Any Corrections On This Page, How Do I Contact You? My Email Address Is H436@Yahoo.com. Thanks Much.
#104708376 Bedford & his wife Florence are not in the O'Connor Cemetery. You can find them in the O'Connor Free Methodist Cemetery located on the corner of Earl & Sitch Roads
I did photograph the requested headstone for George Waterous. This stone hold alot more from that family. Do you need the others?

I got the burial location from the church secretary Sec 14 SE Lot 32 grave 11. I walked it twice and came up empty. Next time I am around and see the caretaker I will ask for his help. Still hoping to find the stone or marker.

I agree with you to a point. I am "distantly" related to some individuals on Find A Grave. I have obits and other things to post on the page. But when I ask for a transfer it is refused because it is not within Find A Grave rules. I feel this is wrong.
I have over 14,000 individuals in my tree on Family Tree Maker. I have worked very hard on these individuals to gather facts, photos, and data such as obits, birth, marriage, death, and divorce records and a majority of these records I write to the library, the funeral home, the cemetery, the city, and the state to obtain these records which are precious to me and many of these records I pay for.
If a Find A Grave member wants to "keep" a memorial that I am distantly related to, that is fine with me, however I ask that they name me as the source of the record that I contribute which is only right and just.
However, some Find A Grave members, as you say do not transfer even if I am within 4 generations related and I find this aggravating and wrong.
I just think your posting on your page is rather harsh and negative.
I agree, this is not a numbers game and this is not a game but there needs to be some give and take on the transfer of memorials.

I see on the death certificate that he died at Borgess Hospital. Riverside Cemetery can be seen out the window of Borgess, so that may have influenced writer of obit, but city records certainly confirm that he is in Mountain Home.

It would be my thought that Obit is wrong. Records have John E. Wilson at Mountain Home and I would have taken the photo there and printed it in findagrave.com. Both cemeteries are in Kalamazoo and perhaps after obit was written things changed or writer put wrong name in assuming Riverside.
I can go look again for you to be sure, but I wouldn't have copied it.
Here is the link to the records page which shows same stone at Mountain Home: http://kalamazoogenealogy.org/Cemeteries/Wilson.htm
