I have been able to trace my ancestry back to Edward Doty who arrived with the Pilgrims on the Mayflower. This has been supported by DNA through a male (Doty) second cousin once removed.

I would be pleased to transfer memorials to you since most of the memorials that I post are not that of my relatives. I would be happy to make corrections, add family links, and include any additional information to the memorials that you provide. If I need to make additions and corrections on the memorials that I have posted, please use the Edit button on the upper right area of each memorial to contact me. Feel free to use any of my photographs that I place on FAG.

When I visit graves online, I like to leave a flower so that friends and family of the deceased will know that their loved one was acknowledged that day. You are welcome to transfer any of my "flowers" to your own scrapbook.

"In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we have come from. Without this enriching knowledge there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life there is still a vacuum. An emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness."

Yesterday we found my great grandmother's grave. She is buried in what is called the Bohemian Catholic Cemetery which is different from the Bohemian Cemetery on Quail Road.

The Bohemian Catholic Cemetery is located in a field on the SW corner of Knob Hill and County Road 180 in Noble County--there are only nine graves there. It was very overgrown and we almost missed it, but two of the tombstones were quite tall and stood above the grass.

Traveling on Highway 64 out of Perry the cemetery is about 8 miles east and one mile north of Perry.

Thank you for sending the links for us to check out. Those links along with the description of the land claim and stories told to me by my grandmother helped us locate the cemetery.

RE: Sylvia Osborn
Thank you for the information. I think my great grandmother may be buried in another Bohemian Cemetery. There is also one that is closer to where my grandfather staked his claim in the land run. It is called the Bohemian Catholic Cemetery. We will check there to see if we can find her grave. I will let you know.

Mary, my name is Janie Milum, and I am trying to find my great grandmother's grave. You posted her burial information on Find A Grave. Today we traveled to the cemetery but could not find a marker for her grave.

Grandma told me stories about her daddy staking his claim during the land run and bringing the family to Oklahoma later. They lived in a dugout for a home. Grandma was about six years old but she remembered that the ground was frozen and they could not bury her mother. They kept the body where they stored their meat until a grave could be dug.

She said her mother was buried on a neighbor's farm because there was not a cemetery. I don't know if the Bohemian Cemetery was a farm first or not.

I would like help in finding the exact location of her grave so we can place a marker on it. Can you provide any suggestions on who we might contact to find exactly where she is buried?

Hi Mary

A relative of mine is going to try (no guarentee)
and make it to the Barker Cemetery and take some photos. If she is successful would you like an electronic copy of the photos? Let me know if
you are interested. If so I will need an email address for you. I will let you know if she is able to get anything (couple of weeks)

Cheers

I've tried to get hold of Shirley Warren and the emails came back and notes on findagrave have not been answered. She has not been on findagrave or a very long time. I have sent requests to Admin on findagrave to merge these memorials, but no aswer from them and memorials still not merged.
