|Bio and Links|
San Diego has some of the best Find a Grave contributors who are doing an amazing job of documenting our local cemeteries. If you need a grave photo there is no shortage photo volunteers. If you are looking for an obituary, cemetery information or advice we have volunteers happy to help you. |
If you are new to Find a Grave and want to start contributing in the San Diego area please read the FAQs or reach out to someone with your questions.
Please always do a search before creating a new memorial
Links, Corrections and additional information
Please use the edit tab and I will be happy to make corrections, add links and additional information. Do not leave information you want added on this page.
Note: Abstracted lists (such as census, death index, etc.) should be formulated into complete sentences prior to submitting for addition to the bio.
Copy-and-paste census, military and other data is not a "bio". Please don't send these type of bios because they will not be added.
This is Find-a-Grave, we find graves, so please, if the memorial doesn't have a grave photo, request one prior to asking for a transfer.
I'm pretty liberal when it comes to transfers, however too many times I have transferred and nothing is added or changed. So if you want a transfer, please:
1. Post any family photos (if you have them)
2. Provide me with family links and biographical information you wish to add to the memorial.
3. Tell me your exact relationship
I will not make a transfer if you create excessive memorials with unknown burial locations.
Please be a Find a Grave contributor, not just a collector of someone else's work
✔ PLEASE NOTE!!! Do not move your Burial Unknown into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate.

It's really special managing the grave/info of family that we have known personally growing up. Thank you for the transfer of Anna and Ray. I appreciate your work. Linda

|Ms. Clyde||Frances McDuffee|
Your memorial for Frances is 100166376
FYI - If you want to use some/all on her memorial:
Frances "Faye" McDuffee was born in Cold Spring Harbor, NY, and followed her family to California in the '40s. She worked as a telephone operator with the Pacific Telephone Company, and moved into management, retiring after 35 years.
After retiring, Faye volunteered at the Alvarado Hospital gift shop. She also traveled with family to her favorite place, Hawaii. She loved researching family history, traveling cross country to complete her genealogy. She took pride in her German ancestry, and in being an American. Faye had a wonderfully green thumb, and spent hours in her garden, tending her flowers. She could make plants grow and flourish.
Plants weren't all that flourished--she had a wonderful son and his family to love, and who loved her just as much. She spent time with them, taking her young grandchildren for weekends, and just visiting with the family. She was so proud when her grandsons married, and the next generation, her great-granddaughters and great-grandson, arrived.
Faye is survived by her son, Ralph Dinsdale, and his wife, Virginia; her grandsons, Scott, Tim, and Brad; her granddaughter, Heather; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy, in New York. We will all miss her very much, and are grateful for having her in our lives for as long as we did.
Memorial services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park on Monday, February 24, at 11am. Published in The San Diego Union Tribune on Feb. 2, 2003.

|deanna french||RE: San Diego Thomas Russell, C.W. Vet|
I'm confused. I have Thomas Russell as # 51216452, with you as contributor under his grave stone photo.?? The # you gave me belongs to a Margarete Kruger.
|deanna french||San Diego Thomas Russell, C.W. Vet|
May I use the photo of the grave marker that you contributed to Thomas Russel's Find A Grave Memorial page, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? (www.vermontcivilwar.org)
He was born in Hillsboro N. H. in 1843, and enlisted at age 18 for service in the 4th Vermont Infantry in the Civil War
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Wonderful, you must share my excitement to have a portrait of Henry to upload for all descendants to share. If making room for another photo on his memorial is not possible, I understand.
His wife Fredericka Heinzelman is from a very prominent family in my home town. I created memorials for her father, both her stepmothers, and just about all her half-sibling, except the ones who remained in Cincinnati. Her mother passed away in Germany and her father emigrated to Belleville when she was young.
Just about everyone in the town of Belleville is related somehow (blood/marriage) and my family research extended to the Heinzelman family. Find A Grave is the perfect way for me to share with all what I've gathered through the years.
Please, tell me how are you related - is it also by extended marriages? I'd be happy to share any research if your connection is directly from the Timken/Heinzelman line (that's all I have).
Thanks for considering my request and for all that you do for the Find A Grave community.
