I grew up in Winslow, Arizona and spent many years in Texas. I now live in Salt Lake City and am retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and Delta Air Lines. Once I found out how many of my relatives had memorials on Find A Grave and how many more needed to be created, I was hooked.|
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please use the link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial.

Yes. There is an extensive bio for his wife, so he deserves at least a line.

The reason for the statement on the memorial is that the death certificate says the burial place is Hempstead and race Negro. There are two (Oakwood and Houston) cemeteries that are in the town of Hempstead that are typically African American. The funeral homes many times just stated the town in which they were buried and not the cemetery. If you are a family member and know for sure that Collie Mitchell is buried in the Houston Cemetery, let me know and I will move Collie to the correct one. That is why we post these so we can identify the proper cemetery where there is doubt.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. In the future, if you find another one, please use the proper channels (the Edit tab) to let me know. It makes it much easier to submit the merge request and track that the merge is being done. I am unable to delete my memorial because I did not create it and it has to go through the admins.

Well, Tim. I will gladly admit I am red-faced this morning. I did, indeed, create the memorial for Mary Brooks 130248296. I am never too proud to admit my own errors. We all want these memorials to be correct. I have corrected the year of birth. Have no idea where I got the birth information for Mary. For a short period of time, I posted data from obituaries in our paper. Her face looked so sweet I just felt she needed to have a memorial.
