Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started researching my husband's family several years ago when we "inherited" all the photos, newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, etc. that his grandmother had kept. I didn't want to throw it all out because it was a lifetime of memories and keepsakes so I began to organize it on a genealogy database. Then I was "hooked"!

I accidently stumbled onto my cousin's posting on a message board while I was searching for information on MY family and this thing just took on a life of it's own.

I volunteered to take photos for Find-a-Grave after I requested and received some for my postings. It was so exciting to see the stones that I thought it would be nice to reciprocate. I also think I have a "sixth sense" or the deceased just "call to me" because since I started taking photos, I've been to cemeteries that I've never been to and I just seem to be able to walk right up to the grave! I've done it almost every time!

If I have posted something incorrectly or if I have posted something you feel is inappropriate, please email me or leave a message and I will correct it.

I am not related to any of the postings for Mifflin County, PA so I will gladly transfer memorials to a family member, no matter how distant. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB AT THE MEMORIAL TO MAKE THE TRANSFER REQUEST. It's much easier that way and all the necessary information is there.

Any photos I post here are free to be used by anyone. If you do not want me to use your photos, please do not claim my requests.

Carl Haggerty obituary
Hi Mona,
Thanks for sending me the obit on Carl. I had already added the pertinent information to his Bio and as we are not permitted by Find a Grave to add obituaries later than 1922, I will just leave it at that.

Here is Find a Grave's stance on obituary write ups:

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
Do not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.

Thanks, Mona. Sounds like a road trip might be in order for research at the local level, since I've not gotten farther online! Great work you do, and I thank you for it. Kind regards, Karin

RE: David and David A. Moist
I am not related either, just researching for a friend. David A. and Frances Moist: Memorial ## 89336093

I found you also had a David Moist with a different memorial number, but I didn't put that down as I could not find a link to David A. Moist. Thus, my email to you.

Do you get this information by walking cemeteries, or did someone ask you to look up this family? Just curious. Whatever the reason, thanks!

David and David A. Moist
Do you have any idea if your two Moist memorials are related? Do you have a personal connection to these men? I am researching this line and have not been able to get farther back than David A. Moist and his wife, Frances, so any help you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you.
