Bio Photo MISSION: I believe Find A Grave's mission first and foremost is to document cemeteries; to accurately record graves, not to build one's family tree.

Find A Grave FAQs says: Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Find a Grave memorials [may] contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can leave remembrances via 'virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.

TRANSFERS (PLEASE READ): Per Find A Grave FAQs, Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred.

I will consider making out-of-guideline transfers on a case-by-case basis. Please tell me your specific relationship to the one you want transferred to you. I need specifics not vague statements such as this is my family member, my relative or they are in my family tree. IF YOU AREN'T SPECIFIC, I WILL IGNORE/DELETE YOUR REQUEST. Please be considerate when asking.

This is guidelines set forth by Find A Grave. If you don't agree with them, please take it up with Find A Grave.

RE: William W. Culver
Thank you for sending along the transfers of my grandparents!

By parents, I meant my grandparents Hans C. Duve and Louise Rehders if you would consider forwarding those to me.

I just added birth and death information as edits for this memorial for my Grandfather.

Would you consider transferring this profile and his spouse and parents to me?

Thanks! My member number is #48388373

RE: Jessie Anderson
Your welcome! I was doing research on an allied family when I ran across the mix-up on Jessie. It is indeed crazy! I have the 1980 Columbia County History book and in there Jessie wrote a bio on herself and said she was born on Jan. 13, 1897....more confusion....but then she was already quite elderly by then....and I realized 'she' was mixed up herself as her first husband, Arthur (whose related to my husband)was born in January and I searched for further confirmation by checking the 1900 US Census which also states she was born in May, not January! She had a very-very hard life. After all that I still wasn't certain yet and so I looked up the 'missing' son {she had stated she had 3 with her first husband,in the bio) and I found him in (where else?) Sierra Vista, AZ....then it all made sense to me. His Find A Grave Memorial #72844936.

Sorting all this out has taken me all day! LOL! Have a great day!

RE: Marie Anna Kessenich Limmex edit
Hello Kathy,
The document most people use as the first source for place of birth is an obituary. And as you may know Marie Limmex's obit states she was born in Bear Valley, but it does not indicate a county. Bear Valley can be used to designate a geographical area through which Bear Creek runs.
My research shows that Marie's parents lived in Bear Creek Twp, Sauk County during the 1900 and 1910 US Census. The Kessenich homestead was located in Section 32, Bear Creek Twp, Sauk Co. on Kessenich Road. Admittedly, Bear Valley crossroads was about two miles from the farm, in Richland Co.
It is a matter semantics since Find-A-Grave does not define location down to the township level.
Thanks for asking for source, you can leave the record the way you have it, for the level of folks looking at Find-A-Grave probably will not research much deeper and if they find Bear Valley they will be pretty close. ---Joe Chase

Thanks very much, Kathy, and you have been wonderful, as well! I, too, appreciate generosity and kindness. It goes a long way and much farther than the alternative. :o)
