Linda, I can't remember if I was actually looking for Hilda's grave or if I came across it while looking for someone else. In the Childress cemetery there's a book with the names, section numbers etc., and a map. Not being very good with maps, I usually find the section and walk through it. You have his parents as Thomas H. Gaines, Jr. and Elizabeth Jackson. His public record death certificate shows that parents to be Francis and Missouri Gaines. I have told you once before that Thomas H. Gaines had only one son, William Ezekel Gaines.

You have him married to Mary Ann Buchanan. Mary Ann Buchanan is the second wife of Dr. Thomas Hollinger Gaines. You are correct that Thomas W. Gaines is the son of William E. and Sara Lee Gaines. William E. Gaines is the only Son of Dr. Thomas Hollinger Gaines and Elizabeth Jackson Gaines (1st wife of Dr. THG).
Kentucky marriage records shows that Thomas W. Gaines actually married Nancy Ann 'Nannie' Gaines, b, 6 Aug 1833 d, abt 1880.
Four family trees on Ancestry.com also confirms all of the above.
