|vonne clauson||william harold denstedt b. july 19, 1915.|
William lived in Minnesota and is thought to have died there. His family originates in Hale, Iosco, Mi. According to the Social Security Death Index, he d. in Dec. 1956. This was concluded apparently because he stopped drawing disability benefits, I assume, because he was not old enough to draw regular benefits. A social security number is given in the death index. I called ss and was told the number didn't match to the name. the ss number was issued in Mn before 1951. He was released from prison on May 22, 1950. He was still m. to Alta Phelps and there were several children. He abandoned the family and the children would like to find where he is buried. Their mother passed away in 2005 in MN. SS says they have no further info. I have bee reseaching this for years. I don't know why I can't find a death record. I thought perhaps he returned to Mi. prior to his death, but SS said he d. in MN. Under what circumstances would the death index not include last residence? If he was buried in a potter's field, etc. , is there any way to check that? I'm assuming there would be a death certificate unless a person died and no body was found. Is that correct? Can you direct me to a place where I can get some help? He was born to William Groth and Anna Nallett. Anna later m. John Denstedt and the child took his name. William is a half-brother to Celair Denstedt who d. in Hillsdale, Mi on Oct. 8, 1971. He is also half brother to Rudolph, who d. in Canton, Wayne Co. on Nov. 23, 1982; Ralph Daniel bur. in Tyler St. Cem. in Wayne Co; Glenavirne lived with Fred/Hattie Kohn in Sherman Twp. in Iosco Co., in Mi. in 1940. I have been trying to find some relatives in Iosco Co., who he might have kept in touch with, but to no avail. Any help you could offer, I would appreciate it so much. His children just want to know where he is buried and if he had medical issues.
