Dave: Oops. Sorry I didn't make myself more clear on my previous message. You were correct in making Athens County, Ohio the place of birth for Mary Smythe. Thanks.

Dave: I just viewed your memorial pages for William and Mary Smythe. I don't know if they are related to you or not, but Mary Fisk Smythe is part of my FISK family. I thought I'd let you know that I have traced nearly this entire branch and Mary was not born in Richland County, Ohio as you have on her memorial page. Mary was the daughter of Imlack M. Fisk and Temperance Biggerstaff who were from Athens County, Ohio then into Morrow County. MAry was one of 5 children born to Imlack and Temperance.

HI Dave, my hubby grew up in Beechwold and I lived there for 20 yrs. We are now n of Marietta. Hubby's 2grgrfa was another Ira Green whose father I can't find. I also haven't found his burial place. Both our Ira and the one you have here were in the Civi War. Yours was from Licking to Westerville and was son of Wm. as you have.

However I do not think his middle name was Atwood. Do you a source for that name? There is a list online of burials in Green Lawn with fathers. Ira Atwood is listed as b&d 1922 of fa John. John was son of our Ira.
{Green,Ira 04/19/1832 05/24/1900 Green,Wm
Green,Ira Atwood 1/14/1922 3/24/1922 Green,John}

Our Ira, b c1800 supposedly OH d 12 Jul 1898. He was in the 178th Regiment, Ohio Infantry,Company B. Marker of yours says he was in Co.B, 18th US Infantry. The Veterans Office in Columbus has only your Ira. Are yoou related to him??

If you get back to Green Lawn, would you be able to take shots of any Greens nr Ira 1832-1900? I have 5 children of our Ira buried at Green Lawn. Our Ira's wife Eliza d 1889 has a large stone in Methodist Hill Cemetery in Reynoldsburg. There is lots of open space around her marker. Sure would like to excavate(:>)to look for Ira. There are also 2 other sons with no death date or burial.

Can you help us in any other way, or do you have any ideas for me to pursue?
