Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am now retired and do a lot of geocaching, which takes me to a lot of cemetaries. I love seeing the old and unusual gravestones. I get a lot of exercise from walking the cemetaries and looking for requested monuments. it gives me great pleasure to find the monuments to fullfil the requests. If I can be of any assistance in this area please feel free to contact me. I am in Perry County, Ohio and am close to Licking, Muskingham, Fairfield, Hocking, Athens counties.

Any memorials I have set up will be transferred to family members upon request.

***Please note: At times I may take 500, 600, or even 700 pictures a day when trying to document a cemetery. Some of the photos may not turn out well but at least there is a picture to document the marker and dates. If you would like me to get a better picture for you let me know. I will not be offended by your asking. Daylight, shadows, wet markers etc. can affect the quality.

RE: Deavers babies graves
In May of this year you contacted me about some Deavers Babies graves that you took photos of in Perry County…
namely Floyd D:

And Earl M:

I was able to contact their NEPHEW and share with him this knowledge and also the photos you sent that included the white home in the background. THAT home belonged to the parents of the two babies! And then in the 1960's it belonged to my cousin when he bought it. He had since moved out of the home, but never knew the Uncles were in the cemetery.

What joy this knowledge brought to him. And sadly, only weeks after receiving the photos I sent him via the US Postal service (he didn't have a commuter to send them electronically) … he passed away un-expectedly! I was saddened to receive this news as we had connected over this Booz family (Great Grandparents of the babies) and had shared many photos and ideas of how to further research this early 1800's family.

His daughter mentioned the photos when I emailed condolences and she said it made him happy to see the burials and have knowledge of them. I don't know if he actually got to the cemetery to see them for himself, but when I talked to him on the phone, that was his goal. He never mentioned being sick… nor was he THAT sick yet, but I wanted you to know we are both grateful for your work and your willingness to share and NOTIFY us of the photos, or I may not have caught them in time to send them to him before his passing.

You are doing a great work… and we are very grateful to have found these babies who were LOVED but long forgotten!!

Aaron Hyer Memorial Photos
Thank you so much for taking the photos of Aaron Hyer's headstone. It clears up a lot of confusion to see that his last name is spelled Hyer rather than how it got entered on his Find A Grave memorial (Hyre). Your time and effort are greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work.

Best regards,

Dan Stone

First, thank you for the grave photo. The child evidently was first buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Winn Parish, LA, then was later interred in the same cemetery in Ohio as his parents. I moved his memorial there.
