My husband and I recently relocated to Massachusetts, the origins of his ancestry. I am thrilled with the old cemeteries and can't wait to wander through them taking pictures.

When we moved to Hackettstown in 2005, where my husband and I restored a wonderful old Victorian home, my interest in genealogy kicked into overdrive. I started researching the history of my home and it has exploded into researching all the ancestral families of Hackettstown, and that meant a lot of trips to the Union and Old Presbyterian cemeteries in town. As a result, I've overcome my fear of cemeteries and have found them to be a fascinating, serene place.

I was the President of the Hackettstown Historical Society and Museum, and our website features pictures of many of those headstones as well as information on these long-ago citizens.

And.... if anyone has a picture of a Hackettstonian ancestor they'd like to contribute to the Society's cause, they'd love to have a copy!!

Of course, I'm also researching mine and my husband's families. I can trace my roots to William Huffington in Virginia, and my husband likes to boast that he's a pilgrim, descended from Richard Warren of the Mayflower. Of course, the branches of his tree are far and wide, with direct decendancy from Deacon Samuel Chapin and other early Massachusetts/Maine families with names like Elwell, Eddy, Coburn, Tucker, Lane, Riggs and more.

We're still trying to find the first of his Brock family here in America. The first relative we can find is John Brock (abt 1714-1780) of Gloucester, so any and all help is appreciated.

Have we been already in correspondence regarding the Brocks? I just sent an email to introduce myself when I noticed that we may have been.

Henry Taylor Barker
I can get to the Henry Taylor Barker grave (#98728025) by typing in the name Henry T Barker. I would like to be able to type in the names of the 2 sisters on the same headstone and also get to the same photo. Henry's dates are October 15, 1837 - November 5, 1853. One sister is Elizabeth Sophia Barker and her dates are May 6, 1834 - February 6, 1855. The other sister on the same headstone is Lucy Hinckley Barker Keyes and her dates are May 14, 1840 - June 4, 1859. Please link all of these children to their parents, Nathan and Elizabeth haven Barker, tombstone 98727048. Would you be able to make these changes? I am also going to write to the person who created the site with the same question. I'd be glad to make the changes if I get your permission and am able to do so! Thanks!

RE: Henry/Margaret Lee
Both of their death registry entries show that they lived in Wayland are are buried in North Cemetery. I have no further information. Maybe I have the wrong North Cemetery? Is there more than one in that area?
