Bio and Links
Bio Photo Looking for all 13 children and their families from Patrick William Corcoran and Emeline Amanda Alley. We are hosting a trip to Huddersfield, England 2011, County Mayo, Ireland 2012 and Lawrence, TN 2013. Richardson--in Carroll County, TN 2014. Hunter--in Arkansas 2015. We need everyone's help to follow our families trails!

We have over 12,411 family members with surnames of Corcoran-Hunter-Richardson-Zook-Moseley-Downing-King-Crowley and many more surnames on And, over 18,459 family members on my maiden name side--Seifferlein and Leyes families from Germany to South Bend, Indiana. Besides our German heritage we claim French, Austrian, Swiss and Prussian royalty.

My mother, Elnora Lydia Seifferlein Leyes, has spent 74 years researching genealogy of our direct line. She traveled to Europe seven times to gain stamped records from the archives. She went to the Mormon Church in Utah before computers many times, to fill in missing family members dates and places.

Our line is much more complete because of her extraordinary efforts, starting with her grandmother in the 1940's and taking notes and using her newly purchased box camera to record family events.

Mom inspired the whole family to continue her work forward. I have taken many of these documents, newspaper clippings and photographs and placed them both on and here on My sister did in-the-field research with my mom in the 1980's. My older brother is a historian who worked for the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. He is writing a book for the Library of Congress. He and I flew with mom and dad to Europe and spent three weeks going through the Land Archives to gather stamped records of our family. Thank you mom for inspiring us and seeing the value in preserving our heritage! And, many thanks to our cousins who have shared and helped fill in our family trees with stories, newspaper clippings and photographs.

We made a contribution to The Ellis Island Foundation--"The Wall of 700,000 Immigrants"--for Patrick William Corcoran's name was unveiled July 2011 in New York City. We paid for a headstone to mark his grave on Laurel Hill in April 2011. These two commemorate our first Corcoran family in America. We have a 9 generation wall chart. We are working on a book. We will share our GEDCOM file.

These lines included 3 European Royalties--Kings of England--Egbert, Henry I and Edward I. The famous Benjamin Crowley in Arkansas, are in our family, as well. We also have stories of our very poor families living in one room houses who were cotton mill workers, who never owned the house or the land beneath them. All of these make our lines "colorful" and fun to explore! Migrations are mostly from NY>VA>NC>TN>AR>AL on John's side. My side are through the Great Lakes, some stopped in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and others into both Michigan and Indiana.

We believe genealogy should be free so living family members can connect. That's why we are adding some of our data here. We appreciate this site's opportunity, and we humbly thank the founder and his staff. Please give generously to this site to keep this tradition going.

Love hugs to all of my fellow genealogists who are so extraordinarly helpful. This is truely one gigantic puzzle that we spend thousands of hours on together. God Bless each and everyone of you for your humble part in preserving our sacred past! Thanks for being so nice and helpful.

I added the Old Bethel Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.

This Baptist graveyard is abandoned. It has one half Alley-Ashmores buried there. The stones are now illegible. If you have any knowledge of the people buried here or any photographs please share!

Re: Ariel & Mary Bouliew

I just found out... Both Ariel & Mary had a daughter named: Myrtle Elizabeth (Bouliew) Perkins (see: Findagrave # 51246369)

Note: I just sent Edits to have her linked to her parents memorials.

The Online Obituary Index says: She married a Don Perkins...

Saturday, May 10, 1941 (10)
Maiden Name: BOULIEU
Spouse's Name: DON
Married: 08/19/1931
Child Of: MR. & MRS. ARCHIE A.
Birth Date: 10/09/1911
Birth Place: CORUNNA, MI

So! I checked the List where Myrtle was buried & found a Donald L. Perkins Find A Grave # 108023238

Dear Wendy,

Thank You! note: I just Copied "Ariel Archie Bouliew" Saginaw Online Public Libary Obituary Index onto his Findagrave memorial.

When I read your message: I thought! not again.

I'm positive he is their!
John is fixed on just trying one spelling of Surname & refuses to see any slight differences.
Memorial is up-to-date.

Hope another will get the Headstone pic for you! Sometime, I'll get a List of Names from you & do some Lookups. Though, kinda feeling under the weather. Fighting a Cold & Congestion.

James Keffer
Michael Keffer
Your posting on William T Keefer says you would like help with his father, Michael Keffer.
Michael and his wife, Charlotte Payne/Paine changed the spelling when they moved from Canada to the US in 1887. You can find them in the Canadian census, 1881 in Grey, Huron, Ontario.
Michael was son of Valentine Keffer and Mary Ann Peterman. Grandson of Michael G. Keffer and Anna Maria Welch. Michael G. was a loyalist who was granted land in Canada after the revolution. His father, Johann Jacob Keffer, Sr, was from Zeselburg, Germany, and married Annamaria Nass 1760 in Mittelbrun, Germany. They settled in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, but it split and they lived in part that became Somerset County.
Sailed on the "Sally" 1767 with a cousin, Georg Adam Keffer. Georg Adam's mother had been a sponsor to the baptism of Johan Jacob.
death date from "Reminiscences" by G F Wittich, a son in law

Thomas Wakefield #132692383
Wendy & John: I have submitted an edit on Thomas Wakefield's Memorial #132692383. He is my fourth great grandfather and I have a photo of his tombstone when it was dedicated at the cemetery. It reads 05 Oct 1762 - 17 Sept 1846. Hope you both are well and thanks for all that you do for Find A Grave.

Pauline Monhaut. I wonder if Bonami was a middle name. My husband's grandmother is her granddaughter. She told me her name was Pauline Bonami, she didn't say if that was a last or middle name. I am wondering because he name on the 1900 US Census is written Banamie. I will ask if she knows next time I see her. She will be 90 in October!

Walter Bushey
Dear Wendy & John

Thank you for your SAC re: Walter Bushey & his gravestone.

I am reluctant to put a note that someone was not able to find his gravestone. It is possible that someone may come along in the future & find it. I have had that happen when I have found gravestones that were previously noted to not being found by other volunteers. It may be a part of someone else's lot, could be hidden by shrubs, or a flat grass marker (hidden by overgrown sod), etc

I would suggest that you contact the Highgate Center town office - their cemetery commission

they may be able to give you some advice as to where he may be buried and there may be a map available of the cemetery. I would also suggest that you keep your photo request open.

Best regards

Leslie Dorschell
daughter of Mary nee Dorschell and Norbert Leyes
Hello Wendy and John,

This is re Find A Grave Memorial# 140892119 for Mary T. Sheppard nee Dorschell and previously Leyes.

She would have been my gg aunt. Just writing to let you know that Mary nee Dorschell and Norbert Leyes had two daughters instead of one as mentioned on both this page as well as the page for Norbert Leyes. She was christened Velma Rita Leyes. She later officially changed her name to Rita Velma as she went by "Rita".

Rita was born July 17, 1904 in Berlin (now Kitchener), Ontario. On March 23, 1946, she married Roderick Allen Lincoln -- a marriage that didn't last. Rita passed away on June 30, 1996 in Cambridge (previously Galt), Ontario. She is buried with her mother and is the last name on the tombstone. It's hard to read but says "Rita Lincoln". Rita did not have any children.

I knew her so if you have any questions, please let me know at:

Martha Rewoldt Kleino Schurig
Do you know where Martha, the wife of Louis Carl Kleino, is buried? He died in 1939, and is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery. She died in 1952, after having outlived her 2nd husband Fred Schurig by a month. Fred is buried with his first wife in Clinton Grove Cemetery.
