I've been working on my family's genealogy for about 10 years, and it's very enjoyable; actually, it's addictive! We even held a Family Reunion for one branch of the family--not an easy thing to do, but VERY worthwhile. I love doing research and visiting cemeteries, and hopefully helping others find their loved ones' graves and memorials, as Find-A-Grave members have helped me find mine. This is such a wonderful website!|

Yeah, it is getting harder for me to keep track of who has sent the changes. The newer "Edit" system is difficult to scroll through to find what you're looking for. It would be nice if you could do a name search in your "Edits". As of right now, and since the new system went into place, I have over 4,000 edits that I have "accepted". Try scrolling through that many! It is very tedious!
In the olden days, I would keep my "Edit" e-mails in a folder, and I could search them by name and voila! I could see a list of edits that were sent to me. So I do still keep the old ones. I was sent the mother link and a list of Emma's family members by the contributor named Shirley Williams Rienecker. I don't usually copy and past census data, though, because I don't like how it looks and it might not be accurate.
Anyway, happy graving!

. . . I looked at a message someone sent me that had Ancestry information, and William was not listed as a sibling. So maybe someone just sent that to me in error and I forgot to look at the dates. That can happen if I'm up too late at night working on this!
Thanks for the information.

Hi Sandy. Of course, you are correct. I don't remember who sent me a request for the link (if in fact it was done through the Edit tab). William was her brother.

It is Fresno County. If I find anything else I will send it to you. Glad I could be of help. Janet

I have found that your Florance Leacock Allen died on April 30, 1919 in Fresno County, California. My source is Vital Search that I subscribe to.

Sandy, I have been given 3 different dates of birth for this person and unless it comes from a primary source, I am not going to change it again. Census records are not primary, in that it depends on who was doing the reporting to the census taker. If someone can produce a birth or baptismal record, then I will change it. Ordinarily, I will just make the changes but when there are conflicting requests, I have to make sure I don't use hearsay in place of fact.

I was happy to post Ernest's picture especially because of his service to our country. I inherited so many pictures from my grandmother and great aunt and I don't know who most of them are. And sadly I've thrown many away. But since his name was right on the photo it made it difficult to just toss the picture away and easy to research and find a place for his family to find him.
I think this is a good reason to keep searching because just when you think you've come to a dead end something new just might pop up!
