Bio Photo "I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did.."
2 Timothy 1 verse 3

"Beneath the stars all crystal clear they sleep.
Pioneers at rest.
Amid the scenes they hold most dear.
Clasped to the earth's all loving breast.
Oh let them lie where tender hands in loving service there have borne them.
Their memory and deeds enshrined within the hearts of those who remember them."

COOK FAMILY CEMETERY, Snow Creek, Franklin Co, VA

Hi FRW:

Thank you for giving me permission to use what photos of yours I may need of Cook family tombstones to submit to the NSDAR with a Membership Application.

I have been in touch with Linda Stanley at the Franklin Co Historical Society. She is sending me a copy of the Cook Family Cemetery booklet that was produced in 2010. She has also asked a Dr. Cross to photograph the tombstones in the Mountain View (Clement Family) cemetery for me. They will be sending those pics to me soon to post to Find A Grave & Ancestry on behalf of Dr. Cross & the Historical Society. Can't wait to see them! I need a pic to show the DOB & DOD of Sarah Turner Cook Clement (wife 1st of Samuel Cook; 2nd of Dr. George Washington Clement).

Do you have any thoughts that you might want to contact Find A Grave about taking over the maintenance of some of the Cook family member memorial pages?

Bye for now,
Karen M. Freeman

Hi Again FRW,

Just thought I would tell you that I have just discovered that "deegraver" who also created several Find A Grave Memorial pages & posted photos for various members of the Cook family buried in the Cook Cemetery, has passed away.

I wanted to email him yesterday and when I clicked on his name on a Memorial page, it took me to his Bio page and at the top was a message that he had passed away. So, I guess that the staff of Find A Grave "maintains" those pages now. If you are interested, it may be that they will turn the pages over to you to maintain since you've photographed other tombstones there.

Just a thought, good night,

MEMORIAL # 156763225 - SARAH SALLY FUQUA COOK

Good evening, FRW,

Thank you so much for all the photos you have posted on Find a Grave Memorial pages of the Cook family members buried in the Cook Family Burial Ground (Cemetery) in Snow Creek, Franklin Co, VA.

I am very hopeful you can transcribe the epitaph that is engraved/etched on the tombstone of Sally Fuqua Cook (1763-1824), wife of Benjamin Cook (1757-1830). I have enlarged your photo as much as I can without distorting the letters and I just can't make it out. The dried grasses touching the stone cover some of the lettering, too.

If you can make out the wording, I would be ever so grateful if you would send it to me, and also post the inscription on Sally's Memorial page. The lettering will continue to fade as the years go by and you may be able to preserve it now for evermore. Same for all the tombstones you have photographed that have faded inscriptions. Others will be very grateful to you.

I would like very much to submit copies of these photos, giving you credit for them, of course, in a NSDAR (Daughters of the Am. Revolution) membership application I am working on for a woman here in Georgia. May I please have your permission to do so?

With much appreciation,
Karen M. Freeman

Clifton William Holman memorial
Hello, I was writing to as if you would please transfer the memorial for Clifton Holman to me? He is my mom's cousin and I would like to add his family links and obituary. I would be very grateful. Thanks. Take care.
