I am an avid genealogist and have been researching my family and my husband's family for 35+ years. We have traveled quite a bit to find ways around my "brick walls" and have been to lots of cemeteries and taken lots of pictures. I'm glad to have a chance to share some of this information on Find A Grave. My husband, Jim, deserves credit for all of the pictures as he patiently visits cemetery after cemetery with me.|
PLEASE if you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, email me. I will be glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible.
I am doing Find A Grave work to honor our ancestors and, hopefully, to help others find information on their own ancestors. The pictures that we have taken may be used by families and descendants. However, pictures taken for 19th and 20th Indiana soldiers have been taken for the 19th Indiana web site of Phil Harris and may NOT be posted on other web sites without my permission.
Thanks to all of you who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave. This is a great way to preserve information, and in doing so, preserve our past.
I found this letter in the bio of Bobby Jett and had to add it to my bio as well. Genealogists do indeed feel this connection.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I was quite surprised to find out her maiden name was also Marcotte. They were second cousins according to the Marcotte lineage chart at the following website:
Thank you for checking,

I received your edit to change the middle name to Unknown. I am questioning this since the headstone says the middle name is S. Are you sure the middle name is unknown?

|TDA||Re: Locating George|
Wanted to let you know that we found the graves. The care taker knew you when I showed him the pictures and he said that you have helped the cemetary a lot that way. Thanks again, it was nice seeing the markers in person.

I'm in section 5 looking for GW Johnson that you took a picture of in Evergreen. Do you know a general reference point or names other than Sarah cambell and Norma? I'm not having much luck locating George.
