Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a 6th generation Iowan, My family have been here since 1852.

I had always gone to the cemeteries with my mother and grandmother, I became active in researching geneology because I missed them both, I have been working on my family trees for years now, and when someone mentioned this site to me I was hooked!

Walking the cemeteries has become my favorite hobby sometimes my obsession.

*It is okay to use any of my photo's of headstones, for your family tree.

Transfer requests should be relatives, this includes siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.

I also transfer memorials to family members, beyond the FAG requirements.... I feel if they are your ancestor, it should be yours. Not so much your 2nd or 3rd cousin or uncles etc. but grandparents, are a main lineage. So ask and let me know if they are your true ancestor

You are taking care of a memorial page
for Philip Fox, husband of Sarah (Potts) Fox
Old Cemetery in Montgomery county IN.

There is at least one child missing:
34227236 Susan N. "Susannah" (Fox) Quillin

Susannah and her husband (Thomas Quillin/Quillen) are my great great grandparents. There is a memorial for him as well.

Sgt. Forest Decker
Hello,

I just come across the Silver Star citation awarded to Sgt. Decker for actions 11 days before he was killed in action. I was hoping to get a good photo of him to post with his citation in my work on Prairie Boys at War: Korea, a micro-history series that tells the history of the Korean War through the experiences of combat fighters from the northern prairie states, including Iowa. Also let me know if you'd like a copy of his citation?

Thanks,

M.M. Helm

Abraham Green
I agree that the stone I added was not for Abraham Green but it was in the same lot location per the cemetery records. There are no other stones in South Plain Grove Cemetery that remotely look like it could be for Abraham Green, so I would have to say that it is currently unmarked. He certainly is not buried around his family members and I double checked the back side of the family headstone and it was smooth.

RE: Sherod Family
I am descended through Rebecca D. Sherod who married Linford L. Van Buskirk then their daughter, Mary "Mollie" who married Robert Carnahan. They all stayed here in Ohio, but my parents, both born here in Ohio, went to California from whence I fled about 4 years go. Barbara

Cousins
Amos and Mary Carns Sherod are also my 3rd great grandparents. We must therefore be 4th cousins!
